Kerry should make swing state ad of Bush FLIP FLOP on GAY CIVIL UNIONS
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 11:17 PM by Proud2BAmurkin
Say "I led George Bush to come to the right conclusion on the issue of civil unions. He even ended up denouncing his own party's platform on the issue."

Play it in the more conservative areas of SWING STATES.

1. No! Here's why...
Bush has adapted Kerry's own stance on this issue. Kerry cannot condemn him for that. Bush will not gain any support from such obviously desperate, last-second, politically-motivated pandering from the GLBT community. But Bush *will* be punished by the hardcore RWers for it.

There is no one on our side who doesn't see through this. It's honestly not that big a deal in light of all the other things that are going on in the country right now and could only serve as a diversion from the real issues like the $75 billion, the 380 tons of explosives or the 20,000 American troops who are once again going to have their lives screwed up by George W. Bush.

No, this is a sign that he's in real trouble, and as wise politicians have said for a long time, "if your opponent is committing political suicide, don't stop him." We've got nothing to gain by dwelling on this and Bush has everything to lose even if we do nothing.

Just walk on by...

3. NO because....
bush knows every state that is voting on even having civil unions is gonna reject civil unions for gays.........he can say what he wants knowing that he is not losing anything.......though that might cause an uproar in some fundie camps.

it is a lose lose issue for Kerry.

4. No he shouldn't
This is the kind of issue that needs to be gently poked and prodded to keep it in the limelight. It is NOT something for a political ad.

5. I bet MoveOn will make one.
Kerry should just go positive after tomorrow. Talk about the explosives issue and projet a positive message for the future if he is elected.
