Bush and Dry Drunk Syndrome
don't know if this has ever been posted here, but i was puzzled because often i hear people suggest dubya is "dry drunk" and i'd never heard that phrase before, so I googled it. Surprisingly this was my first hit. And Bush wasn't even in my search term...

hope ya like it:

1. do you think bush will be used as a tool by AA to illustrate just
what being a dry drunk entails and how it's important to do the right treatment for alcoholism and not just say you're born agin?

5. Probably not
<insert 12-step group here> takes no position on outside issues. Hence the <insert 12-step group here> name ought never be drawn into public controversy.

2. "Tends to go to extremes"
I couldn't agree more. Having worked for a "reformed" alcoholic, I witnessed first hand how erroneously judgmental they can be of those who work around them and how easily they can conjure their own demons and project them onto others. My own experience questions the wisdom of ever placing a "dry drunk" in authority.

4. Yeah that Projecting thing is right on target....
I've always wondered why republicans in general and this Administration in particular projects so much. now i have at least one explanation.

7. I agree with the writer's opinions about * and dry drunks
...but wonder whether she overestimates *'s influence in his own regime. The black/white thinking typical of dry drunks is also typical of hard right-wingers and neocons. I think the fascists who really run the government are more responsible for the horrible acts and policies of the Buscho regime than Dubya is.
