10. I'm sorry to hear that

I liked this rule for the following reason: it helps to keep people from coming here for the SOLE reason of spamming for one candidate or another. Such people have nothing invested in DU and I think that the rule helped cut down on that...if they have to hang around here for a while then it's going to help cut back on the spammers and the people who are here solely to incite flamefests.

And it gives a person the time to get to know DU and its members in some of the other forums before they dive right into the primary flamefests. There are both spammers that are here for no other purpose AND disruptors that are here to take advantage of the rancor. I don't think that having an additional rule like this to ensure that someone has invested in some time at DU before they head right into the fights is a bad thing.
