The "liberal" media jumped on the CBS docs story without, of course, reporting the FACTS:

1) CBS said they can't verify the authenticity of the docs. In trying to protect a source, they trusted that source, and unfortunately got burned. Failing to verify something is authentic is different than proving it is a forgery.

2) What the docs CONTAINED does not contradict any known facts, and when CBS found the secretary who worked in that office at the time, and she CONFIRMED those things were being said about Lt. Bush, THAT was the real story.

The fact that you think we need someone to "carry the water" is enough to betray your true colors, GM.

Which is that they first heard about the ammo on October 15. (I guess they're trying to sink the earlier report of a military unit finding it.)

Does anyone remember the LONG (1000s of pages) report that Saddam was forced to produce? And how the US somehow got hold of it and then deleted a lot before releasing it even to the UN? If the ammo was legal (being certified and sealed by the IAEA), it's very likely to have been in that report. Denying knowledge of it would be futile (well, they could say they didn't read it all...).

But even if it's not in the released version, one has to wonder if this wouldn't be even more incriminating to BushCo.* If they "classified" and deleted big portions of it, they may have had really vile reasons for suppressing it.

Either way, this report might be one way to counter the "I didn't know, nobody told me" defense.
