Bush campaign criticizes Kerry for using "headlines" against Bush

http://www.democrats.org/blog/index.html

Those crazy headlines

The news out of Iraq today is frightening, and the blame lies squarely with the Bush administration. Allowing 380 tons of explosives to be stolen is hard for a campaign to spin, even with Bush's rose-colored glasses on. So how do the pros at the Bush campaign spin the unspinnable? They attack John Kerry for — and this is no joke — using the headlines to make his case.

Steve Schmidt of the Bush campaign led the way, saying that Kerry "is basing his attacks on the headlines he wakes up to each day."

Um, yeah, Steve. He is.

I can't really blame them though. It's perfectly understandable that the Bush campaign just can't figure out why John Kerry keeps talking about those pesky things like "the news" or "headlines" or "facts" or "reality." After all, if you ignore everything happening in Iraq — and right here in America — things are going pretty darn well!

1. Imagine the nerve of that upstart Kerry - trying to defeat Bush!
Who does he think he is, anyway - a legitimate candidate in an actual election?

2. It's because the Bushies aren't part of the 'reality-based community'
And apparently few of their supporters are either.

3. How dare Kerry campaign on the truth

Where are the Kerry commercials with snarling wolves, waving flags, and 9/11 daughters hugging the Prez?

12. Thank goodness someone else finds this GOP tactic ridiculous too!
I couldn't believe it when I heard it.

America is going to hell, and John Kerry is using that against the president taking it to hell! Do GOP-ers really REALLY not see that?

Are they really criticizing a candidate for using, gulp, _facts_ and current events to show how their boy is doing an awful job?

Absurd, really. Seems a trifle desperate:

Who you gonna believe: us, or your lyin' eyes?

Don't watch the news, don't read the papers, ignore the man behind the curtain. Orwell mixed with L. Frank Baum. Heh.

15. Aren't these the guys that create their own realities...
while we're not looking. Then when we begin to look at that reality, they create another reality because that's the way things are nowadays, being an empire and all. Now we are seeing the real reality overtaking the phony reality creations of the bush machine and they can't create their bullshit realities fast enough.

18. We should say Bush campaign criticizes Kerry for using "truth" against
Bush.

Kerry couldn't use the headlines if they weren't there.

And since he never reads the paper he has no idea what the headlines are.
