A Good Magician Never Does The Same Trick Twice
We know that in 2000, votes were made to magically disappear in Florida. It was quite a display of prestidigitation.

Naturally, in 2004, all eyes are focused on Florida to see the repeat.

Is this wise? Does a good magician ever do the same trick twice?

Here is my fear. I'll lay it all out for you.

The Bush Brothers, knowing the heat is on, will MIHOP or LIHOP with a Florida win for Kerry, just to misdirect the media (misdirect the media? OUR media? Yeah, I know...that will never happen, right?). Ok, Ok...Lets get real. They'll try to misdirect the voters (misdirect the voters? OUR voters?).

Anyway...

A win in Florida would play well towards making GW seem a straight and trustworthy arrow. After all, if Bush were to cheat, what better place for him to do so than in the state where his brother governs, and any evidence of cheating could be covered up effectively?

So, where else would Bush change up on Kerry?

1. It's an interesting point, but...
if their strategy is to lose FL on purpose to make themselves look trustworthy, they are even stupider than we give them credit for.
I think they will cheat in FL only because it's easiest to do, with Jeb as Gov. In other words, if they CAN cheat, they WILL cheat.

Of course it's long been clear that they will try their tricks in some other states, I think Greg Palast said he's most worried about NM.

4. I think they're going to lose Florida anyway
but I don't think they'll cheat there this time.

I think they'll let Florida be Florida, and cheat elsewhere.

Looking good is not the point for these guys, winning is the point.
But if they can look good AND cheat, well...thats icing on the cake.

3. It doesn't matter
We're ready for them no matter where they hit. They won't get away with it this time. We're on to their dirty tricks now. And, we have a place to share the info and know what's really happening, which we didn't have in 2000.

Thanks Skinner!
