Fox News, ABC to Present New Hampshire Debate

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Fox News Channel said on Tuesday it will team up with ABC News in New Hampshire to present a debate next week among the candidates vying for the Democratic presidential nomination ahead of that state's first-in-the-nation primary on Jan. 27.

Fox News said it will air the Jan. 22 debate, also being presented by local ABC affiliate WMUR-TV and the state's largest newspaper the Manchester Union Leader, live at 8 p.m. EST, with excerpts airing on ABC's "Nightline" later that night. ABC's news radio networks will carry it live.

2. BOYCOTT!!!
Fox should not be sponsoring ANYTHING related to the Democratic primaries.

They don't give a sh** about the democrats or their issues.

The candidates should ALL boycott this and ask for a truly nonpartisan group to sponsor the debates.

The questions will be asked by who? Some Fox hack. So you know for sure the questions will NOT be the ones that Democrats want to know about to make their decisions. The questions will be trash from the Bush propaganda outlet.

4. Fox doo-doo network and republican rag team up with an ABC station?
Sounds like a winner to me.<sarcasm>

Maybe the candidates could doo-doo on cue, use the paper for toilet paper, and have it all on TV.Then Koppel could show ALL the doo-doo instead of just choosing which doo-doo to present.

6. I saw the debate sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus on FOX.
I found it to be very respectful and dignified. Much more so than the one on ABC.

10. Isn't that the debate that was disrupted
by Larouche supporters? Hardly respectful or dignified.

11. I mean the presentation and the moderators. FOX only broadcasted...
They weren't responsible for the audience. If anyone is to blame for the crowd turnout or the venue, it would be the Congressional Black Caucus. That really seems like grasping when you blame FOX for some disruptive Larouche supporters.

7. Maybe you should just worry about your candidate
Wes Clark will be there.

8. a few questions:
Am I reading too much into it to think that your reply was rather defensive? I didn't think that would be a sore spot for you, sorry. I was only asking a question.

Are you sure he will be there? Do you know for a fact, or was that more defensiveness?

How do you know, has he said he will be debating?

9. Not defensive what-so-ever
Don't you know Clark has jumped 12 points in NH because he rightly concentrated his effort were he was fighting a battle? That's leadership.

Have fun.

Please play nice.

12. Don't you know a good showing in IA for Kerry can cut Clark in half in NH?
I think it was a very bad mistake for Clark. The pay off will prove to be short-term, and he'll go into NH with no buzz. Chances are Kerry will be all the talk on the eve of NH.

Had Clark gone to Iowa, he could have pre-empted Kerry.
That's just my prediction, not an endorsement for or against any candidate.

13. Hi Mark, welcome to DU
While I haven't seen Wes Clark's schedule beyond the next few days, I'm quite sure he'll be at that debate. After all, he participated in several debates prior to the Iowa ones, and did quite nicely. As you know, he's been in NH the last couple of weeks, and moving up in the polls steadily.

I'm sure he's looking forward to engaging in more discussion at the next debate.

Hey, who's your candidate? Do you know his or her schedule for the end of January? Do let us know if he or she will be participating in the debate as well. We'll be looking forward to it.
