http://forum.johnkerry.com/index.php?showtopic=101476&st=0&p=658073&#entry658073We are already hearing that some Americans plan to do everything in their power to keep other Americans from voting, or from having their vote counted.
Today I woke asking myself: What is the difference between those efforts and the threats we've heard about terrorist wanting to disrupt our election?
I wrote a LTE about this. Please join me in doing the same. Send it to your paper. Put it on your blog or web site or bulletin board. Especially freeper sites! Let's spread the word. I am hoping we can take a page out of our Sinclair success and shame at least some of those who entertain such thoughts from following through. Please join me.
Here's the letter I wrote:

In a handful of days, our country will vote in what has been called the most important election of our time.
We do so amidst warnings that terrorists may try to disrupt our election. Informed of this threat, my friends and neighbors say, "Let them try. We will never let them destroy who we are."
We've also been warned that at polling places across our country, people may gather to prevent Americans from voting, and that officials in many states will do everything in their power to ensure certain fellow citizens are disenfranchised.
What is the difference between a terrorist who seeks to prevent us from exercising our rights, and an American who seeks to prevent other Americans from exercising their rights? Both seek to spread feelings of terror. Both seek to destroy who we are as a nation.
We are better people than that. We deserve a better future than one torn by anger and hate. Let this vote be a vote for that future.
