Awesome bumper sticker encounter today
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 08:44 PM by LizW
I was behind a pickup truck today on the way to my son's school. On the right side of the bumper was a sticker that said, "Pro-America, Anti-Bush." On the left side of the bumper was the classic, "We're all wearing the blue dress now."

This is in Alabama.

I followed the guy all the way to the school where he turned in, got out and went in to eat lunch in the cafeteria with his kid.

This just made me unreasonably happy to know that there's such a brave parent at my kid's school!

1. Nice that he took the time out of his day to eat with his kid, too!
My son LOVES it when I meet him for lunch. I can't do it often, but that makes it a treat.

Inexplicably, I live in a pretty pro-Bunny area, even though it's pretty working class.

I blame Right to Work.

8. Right to Work=anti-Union.
Means you can work in a union shop, enjoy all the benefits the union got from the employer, but not be in the union.

Arizona, as well as many southern states, are "Right to Work" states.

11. Thanks! So one thinks their job is
secure and they don't have to work together to make sure it stays that way?

There are so many reasons NOT to vote for bush..I hope Arizona comes around..

After all they voted Governor Janet Napolitano in!

18. It'll happen, count on it. DUers AZDemDist6, saracat, and me
are all in the same legislative district!

I haven't been active yet, but plan to canvass my butt off on Sunday, maybe tomorrow as well.

2. Good one!
I wonder where we could get a bumper sticker like that one? It makes sense.

There's a song -- not sure what the name is -- but the lyrics are "devil in a blue dress, blue dress, blue dress, devil with a blue dress on" (I think I have that right) . . .

...or does it have to do with the blue dress Monica was wearing that ended up in Ken Starr's report?

??????? Someone? Anyone?

on edit: Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels?

Still not sure I get it, tho.

9. We're all being given the "Monica" treatment, you see.
As in "Lewinsky."

It's originally from Freeway Blogger.

12. I kinda thought it meant that..I knew it was from
Monica's blue dress but the rest was a little nebulous.

I was thinking maybe it meant ...we all fucked now!

5. I understand the sentiment of the "blue dress" bumper sticker but the...
...analogy eludes me. Is it that we're all targets of the right wing?

7. Surely the blue dress
is referring to Monica's blue dress...my interpretation is that we all have sinned in the eyes of the world by what we have allowed Bush to do-though many many of us have done what we could to stop the war.

10. And a PICKUP driver to boot!
I live in California and it's running 10-1 K/E to B/C stickers, but I STILL haven't seen a K/E sticker on a pickup (except my brother's).

19. I own a
construction company and I have Kerry stickers on every one of my trucks. I have received alot of great comments on them from customers. Which makes me believe that the polls I see with * being ahead of Kerry in swing states like the ones I work in such as Wisconsin and Minnesota are complete and udder bullshit!
