3. That's terrible performance. Stock mkt on avg increases 8% per year
or more over the past 50 years, I believe. So if it had just behaved typically during this time, the mkt should have gone up more than 35% with compounding.

Let's privatize those social security accounts and get in on the Bush Miracle!

5. This should make the rich boys unhappy.
Has Bush left any thing in place? It is all a mess. I used to get $300 on ave from my retirement when Clinton was in office, and this month I got $150 and my health ins. is going up about 17.5 % this is just great.

16. Awesome! According to one trend, that's a 500 point lead for Kerry
My job requires graveyard shift work in the West, but the FIRST thing I look at now when awaking is the bottom line Dow Jones. So exhilirating today when it was sunk 100+!

Basic day-to-day realities like stock market performance and gas prices are definitely underplayed as Nov. 2 nears. The 19 mostly apoliticl people at my debate parties mentioned them frequently.

Recently I posted a thread regarding a stock market/presidential election trend. In 15 of the last 16 elections, there has been a direct relationship between the market direction and which side wins, based on the final two months prior to election day. Upward means the party in power retains, downward favors the challenger. The key reference point is 10,290. That was the Dow average in early September, exactly two months prior to election day. As of today, Kerry is theoretically ahead by 500 points.
