Home ownership goes up every year. So, every year it's at an all time high. Every President uses that line because it sounds good, and it is true, but it isn't that spectacular.

8. Yes, so are new car owners! Problem is extremely HIGH debt!
I'm scared to death about what's going to happen if more jobs are lost, or industries like the airlines ask for pay reductions! Way too many people are overextended with maxed out mortgages, zeor down car loans, and very high balances on their credit cards. The're one paycheck away from bankruptcy!

I know quite a few people who work for Delta. After they were told there would be an across the board 10% paycut, the "For Sale Board" that usually has only a few items on it, is now posted with hundreds of items for sale. These folks are scared!

9. Let's not forget, most these people don't own their homes.
The banks and mortgage lenders own the homes.
