I just heard this on my local Republican radio as breaking news!
Dick Cheney "terrorists could bomb US cities with nuclear weapons".

They announced this on a local talk radio show as "breaking news" here in Albuquerque. I thought they were going to announce Dick Cheney steping down but they came on with the nuclear bomb attack statement.

Ok how do we fight back on this???? Kerry needs to remind everyone that Al Quada is bigger than it was before we attacked Iraq and terrorist attacks are up because of Bush's mismanagement of the war on terror. Kerry needs more ads on this and he needs to hit Bush a lot harder than he has.

Here is the report:

CARROLL, Ohio - Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) on Tuesday raised the possibility of terrorists bombing U.S. cities with nuclear weapons and questioned whether Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) could combat such an "ultimate threat ... you've got to get your mind around."

"The biggest threat we face now as a nation is the possibility of terrorists ending up in the middle of one of our cities with deadlier weapons than have ever before been used against us — biological agents or a nuclear weapon or a chemical weapon of some kind to be able to threaten the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans," Cheney said.

1. Bush has made it easier for terrorists to get nukes
By shorting the Nunn-Lugar program that was securing loose nuclear weapons in Russia and by not posting guards to the nuclear labs in Iraq, Bush has actually made it easier for terrorists to get hold of nuclear weapons.

Then there's the fact that AQ Khan has not done a day of jail time. In fact, for all we know, he's probably back in business.

Not to mention North Korea. Everyone knows they sold Pakistan nuclear bomb-making designs in exchange for long-range missile designs.

3. Cheney himself is making
the terroristic threat. If he were not perceived to be above the law, he would have already been arrested.

Saddam failed to prove he had no WMDs and Cheney has failed to prove he didn't LIHOP or MIHOP 9/11.

rip off his blazer to reveal the flight suit he secretly wears everywhere. His specially modified F-16 would rise out of the Washington Monument's reflecting pool, and then he'd swoop down on them no good freedom haters with guns a-blazin.

7. This Confirms the Polling Data
Edited on Tue Oct-19-04 09:22 PM by louis c
That shows that it will be impossible for Bush to win with the current numbers, and the current trend.

They are now pulling threats out of their assholes.

All Kerry has to do is stay positive, point out the obvious mistakes by Bush, the dire conditions this country is in, and not make a serious blunder. We have to get out the vote for him. If that happens, it's over. The way I feel is like a farmer during harvest season. Just bring in the crops, and it's a bumper crop.

For those who have questioned where the polls are, watch the candidates. Kerry is in Florida, a state even I thought was out of play two weeks ago, not anymore. Look at Ohio, Bush can't even go there without losing ground.

They need a big play to pull this out, and they will try anything. We just have to be prepared.

22. It's from "Dr. Strangelove"
After General Jack T. Ripper (I didn't make that up) used Wing Attack Plan R to order an attack on the Soviet Union, Air Force Chief of Staff General Buck Turgidson recommended to the president that they conduct an all-out sneak attack on all major Soviet cities.

"I'm not saying we won't get our hair mussed, but I am saying no more than ten to twenty million people tops. Depending on the breakage."

(That's also where Annthrax got her little quote about the soldiers getting their hair mussed.)
