Viva Orwell... favorable is unfavorable!
These media pigs get more disgusting by the day. I just happened to look up from work at the muted TV to see Joe Johns talking to Bill Schneider on CNN. The "header" underneath said the following,

"Kerry's favorable rating remains flat at 54%."

Whoah! I thought, isn't that remarkable that Kerry has such a high favorable rating when the Shrub's is in the toilet. But look how they couched the term "remains flat"... in all probability referring to the "no bounce" from winning the debates.

How Orwellian is that though? The challenger has a 54% approval rating and they twist it to appear "unfavorable". George (Orwell, that is) you were only 20 years late... it's now 2004, but you're still on target otherwise! Sheez :eyes:

1. Kinda sad, ain't it?
If you re-read Animal Farm, it's kind of the Bush manifesto on dealing with the "War on Terra"

3. I read your thread.... thanks for the head's up.
It's just flabbergasting the lengths this corrupt media will go to to shore up a turd. It's a good thing I very strongly believe in Karma. I know it's all going to come back to bite them very, very hard some day.

4. more press spin for *Bush from MSNGOP
MSNGOP has the misleading headline: "newspaper endorsements split over Bush & Kerry"

then you get into the actual page and the quote is: "statement from papers reflect divided electorate"

-So you go from thinking endorsments are split to being in reference to the satements in the papers, not the number of endorsements...

but wait, that ain't enough for them, they then go on to print a full 7 Bush endorsements before mentioning Kerry, printing only 4 of his, but mentioning that he has 6 previous endorsements, 7 more in Florida,
two in Ohio and 4 in Minnesota...witch leaves those of us who are afraid of adding numbers, with 32 endorsements for Kerry and 7 for Bush, according to this article...that reflects a 'split'.

oh yeah, and the Bush endorsements that got printing in the article come from such big circulation papers as: The Carlsbad Current-Argus, Carlsbad, N.M; Omaha World-Herald, Omaha, Neb.

Kerry got a nod from such unmentionalbles as: The New York Times; The Boston Globe; the Philadelphia Daily News, the Detroit Free Press, The Seattle Times, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Arizona Daily Star and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

5. Ignorance is strength
We are so much safer having an ignorant fool as commander in chief. Supposedly no one noticed during the debates that this man isn't fit to be the leader of the free world.

6. Uphill climb
We are fighting against an incumbent executive branch administration, the Republican party, and the supposed 4th estate (media). Even if you take the polls as reasonably accurate (I refuse), it is remarkable that we are within striking distance given those odds.

I almost don't care what the media do now; they are the PR arms of the huge companies that own them, very little more. The time for changing minds is over...the administration wins on distorting facts, suppressing truth, and framing the discussion. Now ,getting every single Kerry supporter out to vote is the key. Barring a major event, each party has more potential in getting out the vote within their own base than they do in changing minds of undecideds.

And I will count among the unhelpful all those democratic congress persons (most of the 250 or so) who have remained silent rather than standing up and shouting that something is really, really wrong here. Byrd, Biden, Kennedy, Dayton, Randel and a few more have been visible. Where are the rest?
