Clark ads in the DC area

I live in northern Virginia, and in the last few days we have been seeing a Clark "bio" ad on a number of cable channels. It is very impressive, and I'm a Dean supporter.

Either guy will kick b*sh's b*tt.

Clark's ads have been airing here in Wisconsin for a week or so. I always have to stop what I'm doing and watch them, regardless of how many times I've seen them.

I haven't seen ads from any of the other candidates here yet.

Gen. Clark is not in the non-binding DC primary, so that can't be it. At any rate, Wesley Clark certainly has the biography to run good biographical ads on ;-)

7. Virginia and Tennesse are the choke points

I heard some talking head say that on the tube last night. I think it is important that Dean win in a few semi-southern states, which I guess includes Virginia. So Clark is probably targetting Northern Virginia, on the assumption he'll do well in the more rural parts of the state.

Northern Virginia tends to be pretty liberal - but also has a large military (aka Pentagon) population.

SO maybe he's shooting for the cross-over votes.

5. Lots of Dean supporters like Clark

I was at a Dean house party just before New Years, the one where Gore introduced the Governor. And ended up in a converstation with three other Dean supporters who all liked Clark, but just likee Dean more.

I suspect most Dean and Clark supporters don't get into those flame wars, so you don't realize they are out here, working hard for their candidate, and not attacking anybody else. It is the noisy ones that need (and seem to get) the attention.

But when we win the White House, it will be because of good-hearted patriots who work for the Dem candidates, not the screamers who just tear people down.
