Small Business Owner seeting and South may not be so Bush safe !
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 09:54 AM by vetwife
I talked to a computer (small) business owner yesterday. HE was very vocal about voting for Kerry and pushing Bush out the door. I had no idea this guy was as angry as most of us are. He does not go on web sites. He told me that he argues with every wing nut that comes in there and could not lose any more business than he already has as many know his position now.

He is so mad and said he got nothing in taxes that helped him. His employee was even more angry. He was chomping at the bits over Bush and said "Ga just may have a surprise come election day. He was talking to similiar business owners in the area and in other states about how if they were republican to stay home and not vote. He personally was voting for Kerry and wished he could have Clinton but HATED BUSH ! I found this pretty interesting considering I had thought these folks may be totally Bush people. There may be a few southern states taken for granted out there and I found this encouraging ! The south are being pretty closed mouthed about this election more than the usual partisans like me and the other side. The ones not making a lot of noise are the ones who will go into that booth and we really don't know where they stand. This guy believes in guns. This guy believes in fiscal responsibility and small business. This guy believes in Kerry.

3. I'm a small business owner
and Bush has done nothing for small businesses. Just like he has done nothing for anyone else in this country.

I've always been a proud raving liberal and if my employees and my customers don't like it, too bad.

4. Us true small biz owners.............
got hit HARD under shrub.

My sales went down `80%, as everyone is scared if they will have any $ next week, and just how high there heating fuel and gas bills are.
I do refrigeration for grocery stores- all stopped expanding and adding anything new, many only fixed what was critical for operation, and all had the work done as cheap as possible, just keep it going until cash flow is back to normal.

Talking to the route guys, like the coke,Pepsi, chip and bread men, all of there sales were way down, 20-30%. The bread guy was down 28%! Bread! And not high end stuff!

My wifes small biz (insurance) went under, as did many others in this area, even though unemployment didn't get too bad, locally.

5. I was a FORMER small business owner. Thanks to the Chimpster....
...my one-time lucrative technical recruiting business got kicked to the curb. I finally shut the door on my business in December 2003 after losing all of my savings and going into serious debt trying to keep it afloat. And I have a wife and two children under the age of seven.

Hate the NeoCons? That is very, very mild compared to the way I really feel.

6. The squeaky wheel gets the grease
and the bigger mouths get the press coverage. In the south, that means * supporters. Throw in media assumptions that the south automatically goes Republican and we're guaranteed not to hear the truth.

I've said for a long time that there will be a surprise here in Texas come November 2nd. The more I read about other southern states, the more it looks like that's a widespread feeling. Excellent! :toast:

I believe the GOP has taken the South for granted. HA HA ! Not all people are so happy about the big tax cuts and believe it or not most people vote with their pocketbook. The wallets are empty and folks are pretty ticked ! They can't buy guns if they have no money. Think about that old Monkeyboy ! They can't give to their church if they have no money. ! Think about that Monkeyboy !
ITS STILL THE ECONOMY STUPID ! and A FAILED PLAN FOR IRAQ !
People don't care if they survive another attack if they stay depressed for lack of jobs, healthcare, and money and paying oooodles at the pump, not to mention worrying about their kid getting drafted and Warmonger running around causing trouble. Those who think will vote Kerry.

13. God...I hope you are right! But are the
Republicans AWARE of all those FACTS? Or do they just care about protecting society from all those gays and protecting Mary from nasty Democrats? Besides God appointed Bush and they don't want to vote against God's choice.

10. I saw on the news this a.m. that Kerry has actually gained a few points in
GA since the last debate. Bush still leads by a huge margin, but if you were at a party of 100 people, about 43 of them would be Kerry supporters.
