HY-LARIOUS! Drudge links story that actually SUPPORTS Teresa!
So, Drudge thinks he's being reaalllly clever by putting this teaser on his site, saying Mama T announced some wacko arthritis regimen at a campaign stop. The cure has to do with soaking white raisins in gin and eating a few of them a day.

Well, if you actually link to the article, you'll find that doctors SUPPORT her idea for this as an arthritis remedy ... that there are reasons it might have an effect. So, Drudge wants to make her sound like a wacko, but the doctors in the article actually support her. HAHAHAHAHA!

snip...

"Heinz Kerry ended with what she called “a highly effective” remedy for arthritis that drew laughter and some skepticism from the audience. “You get some gin and get some white raisins — and only white raisins — and soak them in the gin for two weeks,” she said. “Then eat nine of the raisins a day.”

Despite the laughter, Dr. Steven Phillips, director of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Nevada quickly supported the prescription. Phillips, on stage with Heinz Kerry as part of the panel, said sulfur and sulfides found in grapes are increased by the alcohol and could perhaps alleviate joint pain.

Dr. Michael Gerber, a noted homeopathic doctor in Reno, also said the formula has merit. “It makes sense,” said Gerber from his office. “People go to hot springs to soak in the water and that water is very high in sulfur. So Mrs. Kerry’s remedy is pretty plausible.”

... The health plan Heinz Kerry prescribed for the nation, however, did not include any grapes. It should start with wellness, she said. People should watch out for their own health. Although she has little time now, she will return to exercising when the campaign is completed, she said. ..."

1. The Chinese Have a Similar Tonic
You can buy reddish-brown dried berries in Asian stores -- like raisins but smaller. They can be soaked in alcohol and used daily as kind of a health tonic. Ginseng is also used in alcohol.

5. Well, that just shows ya!
... Teresa is a woman of the world. Just like the whole Kerry/Edwards clan -- parents and kids alike.

Contrast that with the Texas hillbillies and Wyoming snakes we've got in there now ... well, what can I say?

6. Yeah, I'm suddenly having trouble opening it, too.
Well, Drudge just linked it, so there's probably high traffic.

4. My mom does the same thing
Although, I told her if she just wants to drink the gin, just say so and cut out the excuses. :)

On a serious note: it works for my mom's arthritis.

8. My 86 year old Aunt swears by this.
(And I think she could take bush two out of three rounds on a bad day.) My brother went to a doctor in Tennessee for arthritis and the doctor told him that all the medications for arthritis probably did more damage than good and that instead he might want to try soaking white raisins in gin for two weeks and then eating nine raisins a day.
