Mark Morford endorses...
John Kerry!

There's no link for this, but if you get Morford's email newsletter, you'll see it toward the bottom of today's email. It's in the section where he answers reader mail. By the way, if you don't get his newsletter, you should really consider it. It's great writing, and it's free.

Congratulations, Kerry people. Morford's one of the best liberal journalist out there in my opinion, and his endorsement is important, at least to me it is.

Here's what he said:

To Michael P: I am not so wildly enamored with Howard Dean. Plethoric are the emails to me, wide eyed and giddy, telling me how I must be. Ditto Kucinich, who has attention of the ultra-lib vegan underground. I am not a Dean. I appreciate his gruff anti-war stance. I appreciate his knocking of the prez, his attitudes on various issues, his momentum. But he is not my first choice. Nor is Clark. I like Kerry. There I said it. I would love, say, a Kerry/Dean ticket. Or Kerry/Clark. Kerry is odd, WASPy, seemingly uncharismatic, not a lightning rod. But he has depth and character and massive experience, and most of all, a seemingly genuine intellectual curiosity, which is almost nonexistent in presidential candidates and complete anathema in dumb-guy Dubya. I miss it.

"depth and character and massive experience, and most of all, a seemingly genuine intellectual curiosity,

Can you think of any description that is more the opposite of GWB?

7. Congrats to Kerry supporters
He's not my choice but he deserves some props. And Lord knows he's a million times better a candidate than Clark is.

8. Intellectual curiosity
That's it exactly. I think he could bring that back to the country and lord knows, that's exactly what we need.
