Plea against General Clark
In Clark's long military career, he has ordered the bombing of thousands of civilians in targets that have been deemed illegitimate. Human Rights Watch concluded that NATO violated international humanitarian law in the Kosovo conflict under General Clark's command. A conflict that had no UN support.

Today, after invading two countries, shouldn't we be sending a different message to the world other than "hell, Bush wasn't good enough - lets make America a full fledged military state"?

After WWII the Germans purged themselves completely of their war-like ways. Shouldn't we be doing the same?
Instead, it seems like many here are wanting to further America's militaristic image in the world.

We should not even be considering General Clark. This is not the Democratic party that I know. :(

1. So will Dean
"After WWII the Germans purged themselves completely of their war-like ways. Shouldn't we be doing the same?"

That's just naive. The Germans are an occupied country with no military to speak of.

2. Pure flame bait.
You couldn't possibly have stated your opinion in a more inflammatory manner if you had tried... :eyes:

4. Locking....

1. If you start a thread in the General Discussion forum, you must present your opinion in a manner that is not inflammatory, which respects differences in opinion, and which is likely to lead to respectful discussion rather than flaming. Some examples of things which should generally be avoided are: unnecessarily hot rhetoric, nicknames for prominent Democrats or their supporters, broad-brush statements about groups of people, single-sentence "drive-by" thread topics, etc.

Thanks,
