Sinclair smearcast will not stand. Pressure from all directions will
take this two bit little company down the tubes either legally or financially if they continue on their present course. We have the power to stop this, let's use it and smack back these bastards!

5. I want to tell a little story.
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 05:31 PM by Oregonian
Years ago, I was in Colorado visiting relatives. A cousin mentioned her involvement in some "family" groups. Sounded innocuous enough, eh? Well, these people turned out to be fundy wingnuts who supported Focus on the Family and the other rightwing Colorado-based group like it. I had no idea that these people were organizing their narrow-minded little zealot selves into a movement that would harm our once great country so egregiously.

Well, several years and one stolen election later, millions of us are on the Internet and active and organizing. We have DU. We have MoveOn. We have MediaMatters. And hundreds of other sites. I think these rightwing nutbars who took over so many organizations in this country like body snatchers will eventually be caught off guard, just like I was, so many years ago.

We are going to take this country back.

6. Sinclair affiliate WGME reports on the controversy
Tonight on their 6:00pm newscast, the Sinclair-owned CBS affiliate in Portland, ME had a piece about the "Stolen Honor" decision made by their parent company. They aired the concerns of the Democrats, including Rep. Tom Allen, and responded with more of the same old crap from Mark Hyman arguing that "car bombs reported in the media are in-kind contributions to Kerry campaign." They also aired the comments from three people on the street, two who thought it was a mistake to air "Stolen Honor" and one who thought they should air it and let the people decide.

The anchor said that "Stolen Honor" is scheduled to air on Oct. 23rd. He also parroted the company line that the "final cut" of the film hasn't been decided yet and that Kerry has been invited to participate in some sort of BS panel after the film.

13. If they want to do a movie
and try to put it in the theaters or sell it on a DVD, they certainly have that right. Just like Michael Moore and F911.

But the public airwaves is another matter entirely.

14. With only 5 posts maybe you really are as naive as you
sound. These vets have had 35 years to "express" themselves and nothing in those 35 years has been important enough for them to vent until now. You really don't think there's a connection?

18. Then CBS should air the 60 minutes segment that they canned
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 05:53 PM by DoYouEverWonder
because it was too close to the election. Or maybe we could get them to run that Ronnie tell-all movie that they canned. Or maybe we could get them to run F9-11 for free.

20. How come the POW'S
who were in there with them are saying they never heard any of this stuff. The point is most of this stuff has been disproved. This isn't "news", it's an opinion piece that they are trying to pass off as news. It's a SBVFT ad, using our airtime.
