3 weeks from today - What are your thoughts
3 weeks and we get our chance to kick George W. Bush out of the White House and back to his mock ranch in Crawford Texas.
I have my own mixed emotions going into the last 3 weeks.
On one hand I have never felt more energy. It is like being water boy on a winning football team heading into the championship. You know you are going to work your tail off to help the team win. The team reaps the joy on Game day. But that is alright with me, The greater reward comes from the knowledge that should Kerry win, (and our own favorite candidate) that we saved democracy for now.
I know that it will take everyone of us from now until election day to insure a Kerry win, but look at this way 3 weeks now or 4 more years of the same.
If at all possible, put as much as possible on hold for the next three weeks and volunteer, you will meet interesting people and actually become involved in the democratic process. (It is only a three week commitment at this point)

2. It seems like time has slowed to a crawl.
I want this to be over and I want Kerry to win. I want my country back. I want America to know what the neocons are all about and how evil they truly are. I want people to quit being so stupid with their heads buried in the sand.

/end of rant

6. Every night...
...a flurry of phone calls and emails goes around my circle:

"How did we do today?"
"Who'd you talk to?"
"I think I got a Republican to go for Kerry!"
"What's the latest poll."
"Did you see that article on DU?"
"Can you believe what that bastard said?"
"Talked to another military family pissed at Bush."

We are not your typical hardcore activist types. We're just soccer moms and office park dads that have become absolutely convinced that future of our children and nation depends vitally on ousting Bush.

The excitement around us is intense. Since the first debate, we finally think we have a chance and we're grasping at any opportunity in our community to swing someone Kerry's way.

7. Hoping for the Best, worried about the worst...
I do believe Kerry will win the majority of popular vote and electoral college, but I am worried about what the BFEE will do to stay in power.

I also wonder what the Chief Justice will do. Is it possible for him to resign while * is a lame duck? Would this give * the appointment the BFEE have always wanted.

FYI
My first post, please be gentle. O8)

9. Welcome to DU!
Good to have you here!

I worry about this gang refusing to give up the White House, too. I've never felt that way in my life. Very scary.

8. I'm sure Kerry/Edwards will win if we keep working
I'll be doing phone canvasing between now and Oct 31st and have volunteered to go door to door in NH election day weekend and/or drive folks to the polls there.

I'm hoping for a landslide. The country desperately needs Kerry to win. But to really get off to a strong start we need to win the Senate and we need Kerry to win in a landslide and go to Washington with huge levels of support from most Americans.

11. It's NOT in the bag, and we should not
rest one minute!!
And, after the election is "over", it may not really be over, so we should be prepared for some sleepless nights. But in the end, if America is America, we will prevail.

Or I'm jumping off a bridge. j/k

13. I'm really scared...
I can't wait for this election to be over with. The election is NOT on Nov. 2. It's been happening for months, like a long, vicious ball game. I wish we could just fast-forward to the moment when Kerry is declared president. I'm scared for this country. If Bush wins--oops, I mean steals--I don't know what I'll do. :(
