OMG Kerry on MSNBC hardball.... blows off Oneal's claims to attack Dean
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 01:26 AM by TLM

Mathews says that Oneal has said things that pull the pillars out from under the support for the war and is trying to give Kerry a chance to say that, given the new info he is now opposed the Iraq war... and Kerry won't say it.

Instead he just wants to attack Dean.

This is why his campaign is crashing.

Time to put the sour grapes behind him and get to work helping the nominee defeat Bush.

3. Whew....what is his deal? Cant see the forest for the trees........
So does that tell us something? He opts for fueling a vendetta over a present and real situation?

This is NOT the way to win hearts and minds, or at this pivotal point, win elections.

What is up with him?

He needs better advisors around him. That or he needs to take a time out.

7. "Get people off the stage"?
Last time I checked, America was a place where everyone had a chance to speak on the stage and sit at the table. I am sorry other candidates' supporters disagree with that idea.

12. Gep just keeps getting blander and blander
Though I like his issues I think he would be an awful leader, and CMB was right on when she said Gep hasn't done a proactive thing in the House to advance minorities.

Gep voted for the war. Nothing can change that. He's the one who failed his country and deserves to be taken off the stage.

ALL candidates should be talking about O'Neill. Everyday. They should also be trying their hardest to get copies of the documents and they should all take a couple of hours off on Tuesday morning to purchase and read the book.

Like endorsing the Bush crews lying and war profiteering.

The point is people should care about O'Neill and will
if the candidates use their media time to raise the issue
and work toward knocking the supports out from the Bush
regime.

The Clark attack had legit points was was worded really viciously, the Edwards attack looks like it was a complete smear.

I don't know what Kerry thinks he's doing.

10. He responded and will continue to
I don't know what he said, I don't remember seeing anything in the Hardball interview that could be construed as going after Dean. Maybe I missed it. All I remember is Chris asking if Kerry was against the war like Howard or something and Kerry stating the facts about Bush's abuse of power in going to war again. But he's already responded and I'm sure he will continue to. You better hope he does because nobody is going to listen to Howard. Wes Clark absolutely, but not Howard. He's already proven himself to be a goofball on foreign affairs and security. Here's Kerry's response, much tougher than Howard's.

Des Moines, Iowa -- “These are very serious charges by a former high ranking Administration official. We already knew the Administration failed to focus on the threat from Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda. We already knew the Administration broke every promise they made to work through the U.N., use the resolution to enforce inspections, build a coalition, and plan for peace. But Secretary O’Neill’s revelations would mean the Administration never intended to even try to keep those promises. It would mean they were dead-set on going to war alone since almost the day they took office and deliberately lied to the American people, Congress, and the world. It would mean that for purely ideological reasons they planned on putting American troops in a shooting gallery occupying an Arab country almost alone. The White House needs to answer these charges truthfully because they threaten to shatter their already damaged credibility as never before.”

How dare Kerry respond to Dean's distortions of his record on Iraq and telling a few little white ones about his own. And shame on him for spending 19 years in the senate, amassing one of the most progressive voting records in Congress and knuckling under to Republicans by exposing Iran/Contra, stopping oil drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, and a host of other offenses. I am absolutely incensed that a Washington insider like Kerry has never accepted a buffalo nickel in PAC contributions. Doesn't he know he's supposed to be "bought and paid for?"

The nerve of the guy!
