Poll question: Should I go see Nader today?
I hate the man--hated him well before 2000 for his attack on the Corvair. I've always thought he was a fucking tool.

But he's speaking for free at noon a couple of blocks from my house. I don't know if Dems will be protesting or not. It's an indoor event so I can't casually walk in and out.

What do you think?

2. I vote go
Watch him excersise his right to free speech. Then excersise your right to tell him what you think of him, if you want. But I say, especially as it's free, go and hear what he has to say.

4. Yes!
That drives me CRAZY when people say that. I ask them how much time they have for me to explain the differences...

5. "attack on the Corvair"?
Get real! The Corvair was but one chapter in a book, Unsafe at any Speed, about unsafe cars that Detroit was manufacturing. The media is the one that focused on the Corvair, all the while letting Detroit continue to manufacture unsafe vehicles, including the present day SUV.

12. I still think it was a sleaze move.
He turned Americans against the first innovative vehicle to come out of Detroit since the Model T Ford. We'd be driving Pontiac hybrids by now if he hadn't picked that car to attack for all the things that were wrong with every other car.

9. Go and wear your Kerry gear.
Make your own grassroots Kerry flyers and pass them out as people arrive and leave. If you don't want to make your own flyers, use these http://www.udecide.org/. Best not to use official Kerry-Edwards lit with this crowd. Stay upbeat and positive about Ralph while at the same time being a positive presence for Kerry.

16. Another option: get Bush/Cheney tshirt and show up
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 01:19 PM by zulchzulu
If you can find a Bush/Cheney office nearby and get a t-shirt, button or whatever they can give you, get that stuff.

Put it on and go to the event.

When Nader says something to get the crowd to cheer, stand up and yell "Four More Years! Four More Years!"

Then at the end, when the Q/A happens, get in line and tell Nader he is doing a great job and hopefully stays in the race so that Bush gets in office. Act like a freeper asshole as much as possible.

If possible, get others to go with you and perhaps hand out religious literature at the beginning and end of the event.

You might even make the news. Act like you thought it was a pro-Bush rally.
