The Swiftees Are Back!!
Just when I thought their proverbial boat was sunk, they're planning a huge wave of new ads against Kerry in the final hours of the campaign.

These guys are pure filth and a disgrace to the U.S. military.

on edit: not the one I was looking for but its a start ...

Bush Campaign Linked to Swift Boat Ads, Poll Finds (Update1)

Aug. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Forty-six percent of U.S. adults said they think President George W. Bush's campaign is behind unsubstantiated television ads questioning Democratic challenger John Kerry's Vietnam War record, the National Annenberg Election Survey said.

Thirty-seven percent of the 1,244 adults polled from Aug. 23 to 26 said they believe ads by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were made independently, the poll found. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The Swift boat group received its initial funding from friends and financial backers of the Bush campaign.

The poll showed that the number of people who said Kerry hadn't earned his medals fell after media reports showed discrepancies in the advertisements run by Swift Boat Veterans For Truth, falling to 24 percent in the latest poll from a high of 30 percent on Aug. 19.

2nd edit: better poll ...
Even after the Republican convention this negative view of the ads has persisted. In a Sept 3-5 Gallup survey, only 21% of the respondents felt the ads were "generally accurate" in contrast to 40% who felt that they "distort the truth" (another 40% were either unfamiliar with the issue or had not formed an opinion).

3. What a waste of money
Send the $$ to those who lost their homes in hurricanes instead.

Or for cancer research, which would identify them as cancerous growths on the face of the America.

I personally feel these adds are no longer affective.
They have said all they can say to anyone that will hear it. Its an old tired tune played to the point of dull.

5. How sad would it be to be John O'Neill...
And devote your entire adult life with the sole purpose of bringing a man down -- and then seeing that man rise to become President of the United States.

That would sure make you question your existence a little bit.

6. Kerry needed to slap them with a libel suit the day that book
came out, and I'm not kidding. The law is 100% on his side. He can prove everything they've said is false, and he can prove malice on their part. The additional benefit would have been to get a bunch of rabid lawyers outside the campaign getting subpoenas to tie those bastards to Karl Rove once and for all.

The least he could have gotten out of this is getting to be as rich as his wife is from all the damages he'd win.

As it is, he's wimped out and tacitly admitted that their lies might be true by not slapping them with a lawsuit. The ads are exempt. That book is not.

12. I'm at the point where I tune out or turn sound down on ALL commercials
especially those that appear political in total disgust. Could I possibly be so different from the majority of Americans? I really have to wonder if all of this is not just wasted money.....?

15. Watching "Going Upriver"...
sure made my impression of these guys even more negative. That O'Neil guy has absolutely nothing to show for his life, whatsoever. He has spent the last thirty years chasing after Kerry... maybe off and on in spots, but overall -- this is the guy that Nixon approved of to go after John. And he is still at it today! What the hell?
