Notice how none of the papers listed for Bush 04 went with Gore in 2000.

6. This is a great trend, but (this is my opinion, I don't have data) sadly
most people don't read newspapers and certainly fewer even read the editorial page.

7. Editor and Publisher is keeping a daily tally
This is important. News professionals are news junkies. They are paying attention to the news. Hence their endorsements are based on news, at least in part.
