Now THIS kind of undecided really does get to me.....
I have a neighbor two houses down. She is.....to put it nicely....flaky. Nice woman, but very very flaky. Now, I know from having talked to her extensively that she holds liberal social positions. As for fiscal, she has no positions as she barely understands why she pays taxes, much less anything else with regard to fiscal/economic governmental issues. I've tried to teach her, but she just loses track of what I'm talking about and I get exasperated and she makes some joke and says "Hey! Let's watch Sex and the City!"

Anywho, she changes her mind based on WHO SHE TALKS TO! See, the neighbor in between us is stubbornly sticking to bush, though she doesn't seem too happy with him (can you say WTF?). And we talk. She called me yesterday and said "Damn, when *I* talk to Rachel, she thinks bush is the best choice. Then when YOU talk to Rachel, she agrees to vote for Kerry." I told her I noticed that, too. It's so frustrating.

What do you do with a person like that? We've even had her watch the debates, first with the me, then the second one was with the bush person and the third one will be with me. Guess what? After the first one, she said Kerry won. After the second one, she said bush won. How much you want to bet she'll say Kerry won after the third one, which she is watching with me?

After the third debate, my bush neighbor and I have decided to have a sit down with her, all three of us, and get her to decide in FRONT of the two of us. AFter all, early voting starts here a week from tomorrow.

What do you think? Should we sit down with her, so she can't play us anymore? Or just leave her be? We THOUGHT she was just trying to be nice in front of each of us, but it turns out she REALLY truly does change her mind each time she talks to one of us.

1. Try to get her to fill out an absentee ballot and send it in for her -

That will end the matter.

3. She's agreed to vote on the first day of early

voting, Monday, October 18. So she knows the clock is ticking. I would normally think someone like this is just eating up the attention, but I have seen too much of her to know she just truly goes along with whomever is talking to her at the time.

OH MY GOD! I GOT IT! **I** NEED TO DRIVE HER TO THE POLLS THAT DAY!

Brilliant!!!! I'll offer to give her a ride, since I am going anyway! The bush supporter has to be at work EARLY that day and is working all day and can't vote until just before the polls close.

Oh gosh, thank you for making me realize that...I'LL be the last person to talk to her! Thus she'll vote Kerry!!!!

9. That was going to be my suggestion, be the last one to impress her
before she casts her ballot. Otherwise, she might pick *. Or Nader. Or write in Regis Philbin because she watched him that morning and thought he was very impressive. Who knows?! Just be the last one she talks to before she votes. This way, at least, you know she isn't accidentally causing herself future harm by voting for *. Nothing this admin. does can possibly help her, can it?

2. Probably leave her be
You can lead a horse to water...

My neighbor is also flaky. She does not like Bush and probably never will. However, she waits until the last hour of the last day to register to vote and...the only place left open to register (she could have done it by mail for *weeks* ahead of time) was closing in about 40 minutes...and was about an hour away!

Talk about frustrating! We told her she can still help, but she seems embarassed now. Sigh.

4. I suspect the only thing that would impress

your friend is if John Kerry could name all the shades of Revlon lipstick. Some people are just not political. Be the good shepherd and take her to the polls on Nov. 2. Remind her who to vote for.

Edit: I see you had the idea already. Good work.

5. I'd leave her alone
You can only give her the information.

"After the third debate, my bush neighbor and I have decided to have a sit down with her, all three of us, and get her to decide in FRONT of the two of us."

If someone tried that approach with me, I'd be highly pissed off. Sounds like you have a good relationship with her, and even with the Bush neighbor. She doesn't owe anyone a decision. She doesn't even owe it to anyone to vote. Having said that, I totally understand your frustration.

7. She's not the type it would piss off at aLL
She's VERY easy going and would probably suggest we make a covered dish potluck out of the occasion! LOL!

That's why I'm friends with her, she's so easy-going, but that doesn't seem to make for much decisiveness in her, either.

Well, see above, I've decided I simply need to be the last person to talk to her the day she votes, so I'm going to drive her up to the polls and talk to her on the way!!
