Dean: a victim of demographics or discriminatory?
We need to get all the facts on the table to answer this extremely important question. How many opportunities did he have to make cabinet appointments? What was his record on judicial appointments? Did he entrust non-whites to top posts in his campaigns?

1. He had 3,102 minorities to choose from
but I bet none of them came from the right schools...Obviously, they didn't fit Howards "vision" for Vermont.

2. Hey, go easy on him
Like he said, "we all hire people like ourselves". At least he admits it. ;)

10. Sean...I have NEVER done this before tonight
I like Dean. He's my second choice. But too many friends that I respected feel free to attack my candidate. If its okay for them to call Clark a neocon, a pnacer and a Republican, why should I not respond the same way?

It makes me sick to do it, thats why. I'm a Democrat through and through. But the Dean supporters at DU have shown me that being civil has no place in politics. I tried very hard, for many, many weeks to keep things positive. Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

4. This is despicable.
What is this? The "no white men allowed" party?

And you guys can't figure out why white men, especially in the south, don't vote Democratic.

Sheesh.

7. ?
No one wants to prevent white males from having a seat at the table. We simply wish that all people have a seat at the table.

5. Y'all do what you want, but
I find this a non-issue, so I won't be playing, and I hope you won't overload the forum with threads related to this. I'm MUCH more interested in the next Clark conspiracy!

:hi:

9. I agree it's not much of an issue because...
Where the hell was he gonna find a black person in Vermont?
Seriously; I'm not being flippant.
The demographics are such that...

Where the hell was he gonna find a black person in Vermont?

I care about his policies now, going forward.

6. Surely no one with would think that a state with some
600,000 plus citizens would have an overwhelming population of eligible persons for office and of those qualified how many wanted to/or would accept work in the public sector? How many people in the state are registered voters and are minority voters? If over half the US population don't even care enough to vote and have opted out of politics all together I wouldn't think that they would be lining up to work in the public sector.

8. Dean chose to move to VT. Not saying race motivate him, but he can't
really be a victim of geography (on some levels) if he chose the geography.
