Bush's Revealing Debate Statement, Let's Hammer him on this... its HUGE!
Don't know if this has been mentioned here yet or was overlooked; but someone at Kerry/Edwards forum noticed a important statement to nail Bush with

http://forum.johnkerry.com/index.php?showtopic=91180&hl=

During the debate Friday night Bush made a statement that made my hsuband exclaim outloud: "Did he really just say that?"

Here it is:

Bush: "I wasn't happy when we found out there wasn't (sic) weapons.." (in Iraq).

WASN'T HAPPY? You mean he wasn't happy our troops weren't exposed to biological or chemical weapons?

This is a statement from a guy who is so desperate to justify his decision to invade he would rather be right (meaning we are in danger), than be wrong (meaning we are really not in danger from this particular threat).

Its mind-boggling. That would be like any of us hoping we don't catch osama. Not even the most ardent Bush-hater wants osama free, just so we'll be RIGHT.

Sadly, I missed the implication of Bush's statement. I'm sure others did too.

What do you think about a man who is UNHAPPY there were no WMD in Iraq?

9. I was expecting WMD to be planted
because I knew there were non in Iraq -- I believed Scott Ritter.

bush seems to have faith based presidency -- he "believed" Saddam had WMD -- therefor he was pissed when none were found.

bush must feel that he is the second coming of christ -- with an ability to turn water into wine -- or in this case -- sand into WMD.

Furious George, recalling his anger from the debate & the famous children's character Curious George, a monkey, or chimp.

16. could be they are lurking at both here and Kerry/Edwards forum:my theory
They have assigned people collecting talking points from post. I think this is more reasonable because it would give them either a paid or volunteer group. This group looks through forums collecting a large amount of post.

4. No, he wasn't happy that they weren't found because finding them would
validate his war. I think you're reading too much into it, if you think that he wanted them used on our troops to justify the war.

Another interpretation that is perhaps more likely: Bush wasn't happy that there weren't weapons in Iraq because everyone around him was ensuring him that there were. "Slam dunk", among others.

11. I think he meant that he was 'sorry that the public found out' that there
weren't any WMDs in Iraq. He just left out part of the sentence. His administration had access to the same information we did. Which leads me to the question, who here is going to run. There are obviously a lot of people here much more intelligent with integrity here, something sadly missing in the bush* administration.

What a weird statement.

The idiot was unhappy because we didn't find WMD's. An other normal person would be greatly relieved.

13. I caught it and thought it was
very strange for him to say. I think you are right, Kerry should really try to get back to this statement on Weds. Kerry should point out that Bush wasn't happy because it makes him wrong about something. And being right all the time is all Bush cares about. If U.S. troops are exposed to mustard gas, that doesn't matter to Bush just as long as he is right. This guy has got to be defeated, he is so bad for our country. I just can not understand why so many people can not see this.

How is that one going over? Deep pockets George, borrowing our grandchildren's economy for Iraq.

Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 04:07 PM by txindy
He knew all along there were no WMD, he's just unhappy that now everyone knows the truth. But, yes, you're quite right that this needs to be emphasized. If Junior is unhappy, he needs to explain himself. I'd be interested in hearing what the voice(s) inside his head has to say about that. ;)

21. There's great commercial potential
...in his statement. Take an audio clip of him saying that, and then show a screen that says, Yea, neither were THESE servicemembers, either....then show photos, one after the other, of all of our dead.

25. My jaw dropped when I heard him say that
I'm too jaded to be suprised that the media didn't jump on that. They are so obvious by now, supporting the Special Olympics President that it is just beyond ghastly

I agree. I think Kerry could and should make signficant mention of that idiotic and completely irresponsible statement. It is if he was ONLY interested in being vindicated in HIS excuse to invade Iraq and kill tens of thousands of people and maim more. Disgusting.
