ALERT: Bush Blamed the Generals - Spread it Wide!!!!!!!!
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 06:41 PM by autorank
Bush is so pathetic and desperate, he blamed our generals for the fiasco in Iraq. This is not an interpretation, it is a fact. Look below. He needs to be called on this BIG TIME. This should go everywhere, particularly to military sites. Nuff said, read below.
-------------------------------------------------------
C-SPAN Transcript from Friday Presidential Debate:
http://www.debates.org/pages/trans2004c.html

KERRY: Ladies and gentleman, he gave you a speech and told you he'd plan carefully, take every precaution, take our allies with us. He didn't. He broke his word.

GIBSON: Mr. President?

BUSH: I remember sitting in the White House looking at those generals, saying, "Do you have what you need in this war? Do you have what it takes?"

I remember going down to the basement of the White House the day we committed our troops as last resort, on the ground, asking them, "Do we have the right plan with the right troop level?"

And they looked me in the eye and said, "Yes, sir, Mr. President." Of course, I listen to our generals. That's what a president does. A president sets the strategy and relies upon good military people to execute that strategy.

BUSH WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING

1. He is full of it. Kerry was right. They fired Gen Shenseki's ass when
he dared to tell them they needed 400000 troops to do the job. I recall Rummy convinced the Prez that 150 000 would be more than adequate for the SHOCK AND AWE.

Bush is full of it; he knows it, the sheep know it and the troops know it.

2. They didn't fire him , but they announced his successor
far in advance, making him something of a lame duck.

6. And one of the neo-cons in the room,
Firth, I think, called Shinseinki a traitor.

Can you imagine?

3. I also like Kerry's response
The military job is to win the war, the President's job is to win the peace.

Iraq is perfect example of the difference and why the latter is so critical.

7. New Title: Excuse Maker in Chief
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 07:55 PM by Stephanjnj
Here's how the process works:

1. Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz et al make policy recommendation to Bush
2. Bush blindly accepts advice and issues military command.
3. As directed, Generals carry out administration policy.
4. Outomes assessed:
a. Mission succeeds -- Bush takes full credit
b. Mission goes to hell in a handbag -- Bush blames brass

It appears as if we're currently operating at process point 3b.
