What is the opinion of the audience last night?
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 02:24 PM by Jade Fox
I haven't seen anything about that yet, but surely they must have been
asked to give their response to the debate.

The audience looked pretty blank-faced last night, but they were probably
told not to respond in obvious ways. But how weird must it have been to
be so close to George the Terrible?

1. Audience Reaction
I got the distinct impression that the audience members were unthrilled by *, except for a couple of partisan plants like raise-our-taxes guy and abortion girl. One woman actually covered her face with her hands during *'s closing argument. The older audience members seemed especially unimpressed, and the libertarian who asked about the Patriot act actually seemed pissed off by *'s non-answer.

4. I thought * told that guy he was wrong for feeling his rights were taken.
He lied, dismissed and said he was wrong. I was pissed too.

2. CNN or ABC had a couple people on last night
They both said that they still have not made up their minds, but both were looking more at Kerry. The also said that they wish both had spoken on more specifics.

That's all I have seen.

3. I thought for the most part they looked like I must have. They were more
polite and laughed when appropiate. They went from shock to snickering at his yelling over Gibson.

5. Most of them looked bored until the end with the photo-op fest.
Did you see all of those gushing faces when audience members gathered around their respective celebrity "hereos". I found this amusing and dumbfounding at the same time, as many of these audience participants were supposedly "undecideds" at the outset. Undecideds-my ass! I think most of them were awestruck...and, those of us watching on TV saw the debate for what it was.

Pickles even got into the act. She was wearing yet another floral tablecloth for the cameras.

6. Yes, I saw Pickles with the heavyset woman at the end...

The woman looked like she was a BIG FAN, not an undecided.

Altho I heard laughter at some of his stupid jokes...most of the audience had straight faces and seemed to find his perverse sense of humor (smiling when talking about war) inapropriate.

That is one word I find myself saying time and time again when I see him...inapropriate... facial expressions, words, context, body language, answer, you name it.

7. I noticed also the audience during the post debate handshaking
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 03:08 PM by Marianne
the skinny blond woman who asked if her taxes should go to pay for abortion, was particulary flushed and obviously excited as she hovered around Bush. Bush did his usual act, of the guy you would like to have a beer with, and Kerry actually spoke
humanly to those who came to shake his hand.

Now as for the tablecloth--where the hell did she pick up that thing and think she looked good in it? It must have been swiped from one of the pre-debate dinners.

Don't she look swell and proud of her lying husband? Gak--what a slob.

tablecloth

and another--what on earth is her problem. The biggest photo event of many, on national TV and this is how she chooses to look?

8. Thanks for posting the pictures. The way she's clutching that thing
it looks like her "security blanket" for the evening.

BTW, notice how her 'ensemble' has the same shades of blue as Junior's tie.

Were they actually trying to co-ordinate their outfits?

:silly:
