The LACK of Photo Surveillance at the Pentagon - NOT a dupe!
This has nothing about what IS there, what isn't there, etc. about this released video.

Here is my question and it's pretty simple:

Surely, the military headquarters of the United States of America is one of the most guarded buildings in the world. This really bugs me: WHY is this the ONLY video??? You would think there would be dozens - if not hundreds - of surveillance video at the Pentagon. And, in high definition! I mean, the convenience store down my street, the car wash, and a Home Depot all caught video of an ATM break-in at a bank across the street from those places. But, this is how they photographically protect the Pentagon? By a camera that looks like a cheap webcam bought at Best Buy? I've never been a LIHOPer or a MIHOPer, but this is ridiculous. Call me a IDWTBICHAHOPer. (I Didn't Want To Believe It Could Have Actually Happened On Purpose.)

2. a good and valid question...
Even though routine surveillance has ballooned since 9/11, you would think that the PENTAGON of all places would be tricked out in state-of-the-art gear.

3. Oh, here we go. As soon as we saw this at lunch today, I told Mrs R:
"This is going to be giving the conspiracy nuts DAYS of fresh orgasms."

Guess I was right.

6. I am NOT a CT
I don't know if you read my post or not - but I have never been a conspiracy theorist. NEVER. I have made fun of the CT on 9/11. BUT, if this is the best they can produce under the FOIA - something is wrong.

8. And yet...
...the official story of 9/11 is a conspiracy by a group of al-Qaeda terrorists led by OBL.

But somehow, that conspiracy is not nuts?

Okay...I get it now...

12. You are correct, however one would think that they would want to
release something that would cool the flames of CT rather than throw gasoline on them. Why would they do this? Now we have a new CT about why the Pentagon surveillance is so lame.

16. Why would they want to release it? Two words: POLL NUMBERS!
Get people to feel some of that old rage and patriotism from 9/11 again, and maybe bushyboy looks a little better to enough people to raise his poll number a point or two.

It's that simple, and I'm astonished I haven't seen anyone say it here at DU.

28. Yes, I agree with the boosting of poll #'s & the distraction quotient also
but why such a ridiculous portrayal that raises more questions than answers? Why not release one of the videos that show unequivocally the object that hit the Pentagon? I'm not expecting you to know the answer Redstone, just puzzled as to the method of their madness. :)

24. The last few days have provided the opportunity to see the ugly side
of many of us. Not much to separate us from them, name calling, aspersion casting, we pretty well got it covered here. Pretty much need a program, it seems to me.

29. And I turned to Mrs MLD and told her that tonight is when....
...anyone that questions the official 911 story will be labeled as "conspiracy nuts" or worse.

By the way, Redstone, how do you respond to the fact that whenever anything like an assassination or bombing takes place in another country, people in those countries always ask how many people were involved, and who was behind it?

Why do you think so few people in this country are willing to step forward to ask, "how many people were involved, and who was behind it"? Do you think it might have to do with people like you who insist on belittling people who ask those kinds of questions?

Why do you feel so threatened by those types of questions? Are you afraid your government might be lying to you?

Yeah, you're right...here we go.

There are people like me, who have made fun of the conspiracy theorists, that are OUTRAGED that this is the best the Pentagon can do with the FOIA request from Judicial Watch. Something just. isn't. right.

23. Coupla guys in booths at the ends of the driveways. Seriously.
Such were conditions pre-9/11. After all, our President spent half of his time at his ranch in Texas, playing video games, so why would the rest of us have been worried?

17. the DoD video
Edited on Tue May-16-06 08:28 PM by padruig
This is the same video that was used in the documentary "Loose Change".

It is a camera from the parking lot adjacent to the Pentagon.

The tapes taken from the security camera's of a nearby hotel and gas station have never surfaced.

Tapes of the traffic camera's - nada.

As you say yourself, where is the exterior security camera footage?

Why would they work so hard to hide the fact that a 757 hit the side of the building? ((<- rhetorical question there))

22. The Pentagon is making a farce of "satisfying" the FOIA request
by giving CNN SIX extra frames of imagery. Most of it irrelevant, of a squad car going through the parking lot BEFORE the explosion.

It's an insult. Why do we have to live in the dark? In a democracy!

I suppose we'll have to sue eternally to get microns of info.

I'm sick of this phony crap they call liberty.
