Pentagon video: Why has NOBODY at DU figured out why it was

It's simple. Two words: poll numbers.

It's an obvious, blatant, desperate Rovian ploy to get at least a few Americans to remember their rage on that day, and their subsequent blind support for bushyboy.

Just a few Americans. Just enough to show a slight, even in inconsequential uptick in "approval ratings." Just for a few days. Just to cover another distraction like this one.

Isn't it obvious to you now?

Though I do to some extent - I would not put it past the asshole-in-chief to try and flame the passions of the masses.

On the other hand, they could have released a lot more info, which would have the news people lapping at the bowl of 9/11 for weeks.

3. They were obligated to release at least one video after the trial

Since, they had been putting off the FOIA request for years, with the excuse that they needed the "evidence" (hah) for that trial, and didn't want it "tainted" by having been in the public domain (which is already had been).

They had promised to release a video of a plane hitting the Pentagon after the trial was over.

I'm coming in late on this since I've been out of the loop for a couple days. What struck me about the video is that, to my memory, it is nothing new at all. I swear I've seen this before, or at least saw a series of photos taken from it that when put together and played as a video file look exactly like this.

But, it's not been a really popular video/series of pictures among the mainstream, basically, I think, because it doesn't show much of anything except that, yes, something did in fact hit the Pentagon. (And only the most deranged theorists on this have suggested otherwise.)

So, what did we learn today? I think what we really learned, or will learn, is that no matter your political persuasion, anything about 9/11 will get you worked up so that you pretty much ignore everything that's going on *right now*. That'll help Shrub's approval, at least somewhat.
