Hidden Grave/reuters cameraman
This may have been posted earlier but in case it has not this is a pretty chilling article worth reading...I know "consider the source", but his brother is being quoted.

(from yesterdays Guardian)To be fair it may only be 10,000 - but we now know - thanks to our dead Reuters Camerman - that there will be no photo's of US made mass graves taken by the media.

Wouldn't be patriotic.

3. This is idiotic
US troops are burying their own dead in mass graves? What are they telling the families?

Believe this if you want, but it's loony.

5. Is it our dead or their dead?
Regardless, if he was killed for shooting pics of US troops making mass graves, there is something very wrong with this. At the very least, there should be a Congressional inquiry into this to get the story straight.

6. Our dead
From my reading, he photographed our dead in mass graves and was then set up to be killed.

BTW, I'm not saying that there might be some culpability for the reporter's death. Do cameras look like weapons? There's plenty of troubling stories coming out of Iraq. The notion that the reporter was killed for filming mass graves OF US troops is, however, loony. Families tend to notice when their loved ones stop communicating with them.

7. Most risky occupation in Iraq I think....
so much for freedom of information, only real democracies that have integrity of purpose don't fear pictures/stories of reality.

But your statement "Families tend to notice when their loved ones stop communicating with them." is interesting. True, families notice, but is any effort to aggregate these stories, nationally? Or could the death notices be managed by the Army so as to spread them out over time? How frequent is the communication between soldiers and their families?

I don't know the answers to these questions.

8. Thanks for posting this, morningtheft.
This is a very disturbing article and I missed the LBN thread. This should definitely be investigated no matter who is making the allegations.
:scared:

Welcome to DU, morningtheft! This is a very provocative article and deserves a lot more notice! Keep posting!:-)
