John Ogonowski is alleged to have been killed when, or some time before, Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Though John was a nuclear engineer, he learned to fly in the Army Air Force before going to work as a pilot for American Airlines. He was 50 years old at the time of his untimely death. John has two brothers and two sisters. Jim serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard at Pease Air National Guard air base in Portsmouth, NH. Joe, an industrial engineer (and farmer raising ten acres of pumpkins), lives in Michigan. Dolores is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and Carol, a Ph.D, works for the IRS.
After buying the rundown property, John cleared brush and planted the restored fields to hay, blueberries and peaches, 15 acres of pumpkins and 10 acres of corn. He built a house, two barns and a large garage.

“John bought the farm from ABCO, a radar research company,” Jim said. “They developed Patriot Missle technology here. When John found out they were going to sell the surrounding land to developers, he bought the land and put it into the farmland preservation program. ABCO has a 99 year lease on the land where their building sits, but the rest of the land is protected from development, forever.”
http://www.cfgrower.com/peepsbiz/sept/whites.htmlOf special concern to Ogonowski, whose family has farmed in the area for about 100 years, was a 350-acre development and golf course being built near his property and across the street from his parents' home.
The land once belonged to a cousin, who sold it to the developer. Even before Ogonowski's death, the trust was working to raise the money to buy 33 acres of the land in hopes of retaining some of the town's agricultural character by leaving it as open space or converting it to farmland.
<snip>
The night before Ogonowski's last flight, he dropped by the Cambodian farmers' plots to talk with them. He told them he was sorry to have to miss their fall harvest festival on Sept. 11, when he was scheduled to captain a Los Angeles-bound flight out of Boston's Logan Airport.

Maybe some of those Cambodians
did not fully understand
the meaning of the term
"shut up."
I am not sure how we can help these people.
Heck, I am not sure how we can help ourselves.
