1. Are you one of those conspiracy theorists?
Commander Bunnypants stayed in the classroom because he was afraid of the terrusts. Yo, Sama - is a lot taller than Bunnypants, and besides, he was little be shaken to think he had misjudged just how smart this particular group of terrusts were.

Remember, OTHER governments (in countries that hate the freedoms some used to think we have) engage in conspiracies, but not ours. All those stories you've heard about Pearl Harbor, Remember The Maine (and Remember The Alum, Moe), Gulf of Tonka, Operations Northwood, Anthrax, etc. - those are just paranoid fantasies dreamed-up by liberal conspiracy theorists who hate our country.

We should all just be greatful that some very dedicated (some might say zealous) patriots come on DU on their own time, and work tirelessly to debunk these left-wing conspiracy theorists who hate our country and the freedoms we talk about (or dream about).

Stand up for Jesus Shaves, and Jeb Bush, too.

5. When did anybody ever say
that any government never has or never would engage in a conspiracy?

The need is to distinguish between "would" and "did", and to weigh the circumstance.

With regard to the viability of grand conspiracies to dominate the World, what about the Law of Requisite Variety?

(see e.g. http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/REQVAR.html)

We should all be grateful to those who take the trouble to get their facts right, and yet more grateful to those with the good grace to admit that they got it wrong when they plainly did.

3. What would you have prefered?
Bush was in the middle of a reading lesson with a bunch of kids, and then he gets the news about the worst terrorist attack in the history of our nation....should he have gotten up right then and there, leaving the kids there in the middle of their reading? Honestly now, Wasn't it really better for him to continue for the next 5 minutes(I've heard) for the sake of the kids and then leave to go take care of things rather than scaring all the kids and teachers there by taking off?

4. It suited him perfectly well
... to appear as if he would really CARE FOR CHILDREN!

And even BLACK CHILDREN to boot.

Well, isn't this what photo ops are for?

A little later, of course, such care had to give way to more important tasks. He had to address the nation - in the midst of all those children - still at risk, apparently, of being a terrorist target ...

and later still, in the course or "taking care of things", Mr. Bush took care of this boy in Afhganistan:

and this one, in Iraq

6. Bullshit
Bush excusing himself would not have scared anyone. He could simply have said "excuse me, I need to check on something" and left. In fact at the moment Card whispers to Bush there is a lull in the action as the teacher is getting ready for the next segment with the pet goat story.
