Cutting through the propaganda

1)We are told al Qaeda was an independent terrorist organization opposed to both the US and the Saudi government.

2)Yet journalists (i.e. Greg Palast) have reported that US intelligence was pressured to back off investigations which involved Saudi links to terrorism.

3) All the bizarre intelligence community conduct in the lead up to 9/11 strongly suggests that they were following orders to back off Saudi linked terrorist investigations. Meaning they were ordered to back off AL QAEDA investigations.

Why would US intelligence follow such treasonous orders?

If Bush and Cheney gave these orders is that ok? Should we "move on for the good of the country?" Does this not explain (better than the MSM idiocy) the torture program, the domestic spying program? They were covering their tracks.
