Dave Emory gives a great overview there. The two most important entities in global money laundering used to be AIG and Clearstream. Clearstream has caused two French scandals and a white wash commission who couldn't find anything wrong it so it is probably not active anymore. AIG needs billions just to keep afloat, so it is probably not active anymore either.
So that's the good news, because a false flag operation on the scale of 9/11 is very expensive and there is probably no entity anymore large enough and healthy enough to do that.
Back to AIG. I've been lurking for a couple of days, because I wanted to see what everybody could find and a lot of pieces have been discovered. Nevertheless most - except for SLaD who already knew - have no idea of the scale of AIG.
From my two year old posts, the most important parts of AIG:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=125x100059#1000631. AIG Cartel AIG is not a single entity but a family based cartel which includes Marsh & McLennan, Ace, Bear Streams (which got bailed out previously), Kroll, and numerous smaller items like Coral Reinsurrance. Notice that the cartel used to be family based and each family member had their company. Basically the Greenbergs are a classic mafia family except that we do not call them mafia because they are CEOs.
2. AIG and CIAThe OSS started at Starr Insurance. The OSS became CIA and Starr Insurance became American International Group. Arlan Specter et al. nominated Maurice Greenberg as Director of CIA as well, however he didn't get the nomination. Frank G. Wisner, jr. used to be on the board of Kroll as well. Basically the AIG cartel and the CIA had a revolving door and were very close.
AIG's first line of business was insurance which meant large amount of money which were readily available to be used for other activities as well. This means that AIG's second line of business was the laundry and investment arm (mainly Bear Stearns) for the CIA.
3. AIG and drug money launderingThe Greenberg family has an American part and a Columbian part. You will notice that the Columbian part is always used for by the Company (=CIA) for South American operations. Michael Ruppert has written extensively about how the Mena drug money was laundered using Coral Reissurance (part of the AIG cartel) and Fuji Bank. However it probably doesn't stop at cocaine, because Starr Insurance was from its conception a player in the Asian heroin market. There are serpentine links between AIG and former UNOCAL consultant Hamid Karzai who has been promoted to President of Afghanistan. Intelligence Online (former French agents) has some juicy stuff on that part.
4. AIG and EnronForer Enron managers decided to do some musical chairs with AIG, Marsh and Kroll which resulted in Spitzer taking a look at the company. This resulted in the Spitzer investigation where Maurice and Jeffrey Greenberg resigned as CEOs and they paid $850M as a settlement and prevent a real investigation.
5. Greenberg family and the Bush familyThe best source on this matter is Al Martin who extensively wrote about how the AIG cartel was almost always the partner in fraud with the Bush family companies.
However the Bush family is just one of the many groups who loved to play with AIG. Henry Kissinger was a friend of Hank as well. Paul Bremer used to be a former Director at Marsh. Cheney, Schultz and many other also used Bear Stearns as their investment arm. The creation of Clear Channel, the Republican Radio station, started with the investment and pumping of Bear Stearns, J.P. Morgan, et al.
You probably think that this is a hell of a lot, however AIG is even dirtier than that, because there were also their own scams, ponzy schemes and down and out fraud.
More information about their regular scandals can be found at the Catbird Seat:
