Re-Zeitgeist The Movie and the Bear Stearns buyout by Morgan Chase.
For those who saw Zeitgeist The Movie. Do you remember in Part 3, when it was said that JP Morgan published rumors that banks were insolvent or bankrupt, therefore causing the Panic of 1907? Then JP Morgan came to the rescue? The Panic of 1907 was a "reason" to create the Federal Reserve. Amongst those involved with the creation of the Fed were JP Morgan and John D. Rockefeller (Chase).

Has anyone did any research to see if the claim in the movie was true about JP Morgan. I do have the link of Zeitgeist's sources, and so far, none of the material in regard to this is not on the internet. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/sources.htm

My :tinfoilhat" neatly in place, and I think that this event of 101 years ago, has a direct correlation to today's Morgan Chase buying out Bear Stearn.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. This is really piquing my curiosity. Thanks in advance!

10. Why trust far right wing conspiracy theories though?
Even if there's a "nugget" of truth in there somewhere, why bother digging through all the shit to find it? Why not read some actual historians?

Actually the question's rhetorical. I know why. Because they're unlikely to confirm the conspiracy theories you already believe.

12. I don't see these are far wrong wing conspiracy theories at all. Some of these people
might be wrong wing or in most cases Libertarian, but there are plenty of people on the left that question too. For the heck of it, try to start a poll about 9/11 on the General Discussion board and you'll find that the vast majority of DUers believe in LIHOP or MIHOP. You can even dig up some of those polls here in the dungeon because of course, those polls wind up here.

As to actual historians, how do you know that the information sources that I provided aren't actual historians? Sometimes it takes a lot of digging to get past official stories.

17. That's the difference. I'm not asking you to trust me.
I'm asking you to take a critical look at your own sources of information and follow the trail back to the far right wing slime they oozed out of in the first place.

That's all I'm doing. Asking you to ask yourself, "Could this possibly be wrong? Could I possibly be wrong?"

19. Actually, it's the far wrongwing slime that seem to be behind these conspiriacies. Let me ask you a
question. Do you believe that we were deliberately lied into the war in Iraq? That those lies were created to dupe us? Wouldn't that orchestration by Shrub and Co. be a conspiracy against us? Just curious.

33. I've been telling this one very indoctrinated friend of mine
I'd rather believe a conspiracy theory tht is true than be duped by the
propaganda they want us to believe and that is actually less plausible.

BTW Jim Rogers (A close business partner of George Soros) is saying that the Federal Reserve should be abolished. He too thinks that it is an insiders' game -- and also what it is up to right now is socialism for the rich.

4. Thanks for the SOURCES...
I think it's important to read material outside of the very corporations(the Banks) which have cause such harm worldwide. Most universities and media are controlled by Foundations owned by Banking families. Yes, that's right...publishing houses act as a filters of Truth.

And it's time you all knew this.

18. What makes you think we haven't?
Most skeptics have looked "into these things." Quite deeply in fact. And our conclusion is that they're simply wrong. Worse still, there is an agenda being promoted, sometimes subtly, sometimes not so subtly that is the antithesis of our values. By conspiracy? No. It's just plain old fear, hatred and irrationality; the enemies of all humankind since the origins of the species.

35. So what's your problem with someone else looking into them?
The poster explicitly stated he wanted to check into claims made in zeitgeist. Checking into claims before you swallow them is responsible investigation.

But you & your pals demean him from the get-go. Why is that?

Can't you disagree, or provide him with the results of your own investigation, without the nasty personal tone?

25. Perhaps not a direct correlation but this is very interesting..from a speech by Barack Obama today
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/27/us/politics/27text-obama.html?pagewanted=all

On recent days, reports have circulated that some traders may have intentionally spread rumors that Bear Stearns (NYSE:BSC) was in financial distress while making market bets against the country. The SEC should investigate and punish this kind of market manipulation and report its conclusions to Congress.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Bush administration is proposing a sweeping overhaul of the way the nation's financial industry is regulated. In an effort to deal with the problems highlighted by the current severe credit crisis, the new plan would give major new powers to the Federal Reserve, according to a 22-page executive summary obtained Friday by The Associated Press
