Nick E. Berg as the Oklahoma Kid.
Edited on Sat May-15-04 01:04 AM by NecessaryOnslaught
"Al Qaeda operative Zacarias Moussaoui arrived in Norman in February 2001 and was a student at the Airman Flight School until May. As an Airman student he was housed in OU dormitories."

"al-Attas, who was an engineering student at the University of Oklahoma, had shared an apartment with Moussaoui and at least one other person for several weeks."

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/07/25/attack/main516353.shtml

Hussein Al-Attas, a University College senior, and Mukkaram Ali were arrested within a couple days of Sept. 11. Al-Attas drove Moussaoui to Minnesota in August.

Both lived in Kraettli Apartments on the OU campus in an apartment with OU senior Aiham Rabih, according to a university source. Neither Al-Attas nor Ali were on the lease for the apartment.

"According to independent researcher MP Wright (Oklahoma), who provided his results also to OkC Channel 9 newsman Gan Matthews, Nick E. Berg is listed as an OU employee for the period between academic year 2000-2001.

Wright checked the University of Oklahoma personnel directory.
His title was Public Events Attendant at the Lloyd Noble
Arena
, which could mean, he was a kind of "janitor"."

"one of the terrorist's tickets for the Pennsylvania flight was purchased on a public computer terminal in the University of Oklahoma library. The OU librarian who informed me of this assumed that the young Caucasion American male who ordered the ticket was involved with a neo-Nazi group whose members shared Al Qaeda's hatred for Israel."

"• The FBI apparently conducted a lengthy investigation of Berg in captivity because they were checking out a possible friendship or other tie with an Arab at the University of Oklahoma who was under scrutiny in connection with the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

• The source said that in addition to his passport, cash and a laptop, Berg had two books when he was arrested in Mosul on March 24 that aroused suspicion: the Koran and a book that authorities somehow interpreted as "anti-Semitic." "

"Government sources told CNN that the encounter involved an acquaintance of Zacarias Moussaoui -- the only person publicly charged in the United States in connection with the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

According to Berg, his son was taking a course a few years ago at a remote campus of the University of Oklahoma near an airport. He described how on one particular day, his son met "some terrorist people -- who no one knew were terrorists at the time."

"It turned out this guy was a terrorist and that he, you know, used my son's e-mail, amongst many other people's e-mail who he did the same thing to," Berg said.

Government sources said Berg gave the man his password, which was later used by Moussaoui, the sources said.

The sources said the man who used Berg's e-mail knew Moussaoui, now awaiting trial on federal charges that could bring a death sentence. But the sources would not disclose details of how the men were connected."

could be one of three things:

just a coincidence, and he is not the guy buying airline ticket

he was trying to "infiltrate" anti-Jewish groups, both here at home
and then in Iraq.

he really rejected the faith of his parents, became a radical
Islamic, and was NOT executed by Zarqawi or any other member of
Al Qaida. So that means he was likely never out of the hands of
the US officials... and they just found a very convenient way
to dispose of him, riding the world of another "American terrorist"
(who may know something about 9/11 - yikes) while distracting
attention from the abuse scandal AND proving some sort of link between
Al Qaida and Iraq. Another trifecta!

2. Interesting catch
You've also got the father's statement where he says that his son was the Arabs' "best friend," which could be interpretted differently in light of this trail of information (i.e. Nicholas might have hated Israel; an anti-Israel book might have been what was interpretted as "anti-Semetic").

However, we also know that Nicholas himself is Jewish, at least ethnically, which would not endear him to neo-Nazis. We also know that he had an Israeli stamp on his passport (which is according to some sources what drew the suspicion of the Iraqi police).

The big picture in this puzzle eludes me, though. What does this all mean?

175. On April 30,2001, an Air Force alert was issued from Tinker Air Force (TAFB), in Oklahoma City concerning a "possible intelligence collection effort being conducted by Israeli Art Students". 7. Who ever thought that Oklahoma City
would be such a hotbed for terrorist activity?

Funny how those art students keep popping up. Seems that Berg was living a double life?

3. Protocols...

Someone posted last night that Berg carried the Protocols of the Elders of Zion with him. I have not been able to confirm this, but if that is the "other" book, the interpretation of it being anti-Semitic is certainly on the mark.

While trying to find a story on this, however, I ran across David Berg's group "The Family." I don't mean David's brother. This David was the religious nut who built a cult from the 60's "Jesus People" movements. He died in 1994.

It made me wonder if they're related in some way, not that it might mean anything, but it was just another oddity.
