PM after Gaza killings: We won't put up with terror
pdiv class="excerpt"]Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, speaking the morning after gunmen of the Islamic Jihad and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades of Fatah killed a Jerusalem couple visiting family at Gush Katif, said Sunday that Israel will react with very harsh means if Palestinians launch terror attacks during or following the disengagement.
:
Gunmen of the Islamic Jihad and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades of Fatah killed Dov, 58, and Rachel Kol, 53, while they were driving on a road that links the Kissufim crossing to the settlement bloc in the southern Gaza Strip
:
The Fatah Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades and the Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the shooting. In a phone call to The Associated Press, a spokesman for the Islamic Jihad said the attack was carried out by a member of his group, together with gunmen from the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades and the Gaza-based Popular Resistance Committee.
:
An anti-tank missile was launched Saturday night at an IDF force securing the Neveh Dekalim settlement in Gush Katif. Gunmen also opened fire at an army outpost near the Gaza settlement of Netzer Hazani. There were no casualties or damage in either incident.

A rocket exploded near the Khan Yunis refugee camp in Gaza early Sunday. Local resident initially reported that an Israel Air Force helicopter had fired a missile, but Palestinian security officials said that the explosion was caused by a home made rocket fired by Palestinian militants. An IAF helicopter was hovering overhead at the time.

1. Very sad.
Yet, more casualties to the long list. What possible reason did they have for killing these people?!

2. That one's a bit of a no-brainer...
As it gets closer to the time the disengagement starts, there's going to be an upsurge in violence (as has been happening lately) as they want to take credit for forcing Israel out of the Gaza Strip, even though the reality is that the actions of extremist settlers seem to be what's ensured the disengagement goes ahead as plans...
