Settlers `tattoo' ID numbers on their arms
In a renewed comparison of the Gaza pullout to the Holocaust, residents of the Gaza settlement bloc of Gush Katif are writing their identity card numbers on their arms to protest the closure of the Strip to non-resident Israelis.

Security forces are requiring Gaza settlers to display their ID cards before allowing them into the settlements. The trend began during a Wednesday night protest against the closure, when a woman who lives in Gush Katif refused to show her ID card to security forces at Kissufim crossing. Instead, she showed him her arm, on which she had written her identity number, in a simulation of the Nazi practice of branding numbers on the arms of concentration camp inmates. Security forces checked her identity and let her through the checkpoint.

"The use by a few disengagement opponents of Holocaust symbols and implications comparing the horrors of the Third Reich to the government's disengagement plan, even if it is mistaken, constitutes a sin against the memory of the entire Jewish nation," said Yatom.

But the right-wing Jewish Leadership faction of the Likud reserved its condemnation for the closure imposed Wednesday, writing: "The prime minister of Israel and the defense minister signed an order the likes of which were last signed in German."

2. Every group has its radical fundamentalists. Even groups that have been
terrorized and persecuted by radical fundamentalists at some time in their own history. How sad.

4. How can you compare them to Puertorrican independence fighters?
Or do you disapprove of President Clinton's pardon of FALN leaders?

5. They will await the judgment of history
Terrorist incidents by FALN

On December 11, 1974, Angel Poggi, a police officer, lost an eye and was permenantly disabled by one of FALN's bombs at 336 East 110th Street in East Harlem. It was his first day on the job.

On January 24, 1975 FALN, through their Communique No. 3 claimed responsiblity for the bombing of the Fraunces Tavern, killing four people and injuring more than 50. No one was ever prosecuted for the bombing.

On April 3, 1975, FALN took responsibility for four bombings in New York City, by leaving their Communique No. 4 for the Associated Press at a phone booth. The four bombs went off within a 40 minute period. The first bomb exploded on 51 Madison Avenue, the New York Life Insurance Company. The second bomb exploded on 45 East Forty-Ninth Street, the Bankers Trust Company plaza. The third bomb exploded on 340 Park Avenue South, the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company headquarters. The fourth bomb exploded on 5 West Forty-Sixth Street, the Blimpie Base restaurant. At least five people were injured from the bombings.

On June 9, 1979, FALN exploded a bomb outside of Shubert Theatre in Chicago, injuring five people.

On March 15, 1980, armed members of FALN raided the campaign headquarters of Carter-Mondale in Chicago and the campaign headquarters of George H. W. Bush in New York City. Seven people in Chicago and ten people in New York were tied up as the offices were vandalized before the FALN members fled. A few days later, Carter delegates in Chicago received threatening letters from FALN. On April 5, 11 members of FALN were arrested for attempting to rob an armored truck at Northwestern University; three were linked to the raid on the Carter-Mondale campaign headquarters.

6. The real terrorist is the US and its colonialization of Puerto Rico
You failed to mention that FALN has not been active since mid 1980s, or that President Clinton pardoned its leaders.

You also ignored the history of Puerto Rico, and how it has become a a mistress to US corporations.

Puerto Rico is a Colony
By Jose R. Bas García
October 9, 2001

Based on the conferences dictated by Dr. Antonio J. González *
Published in the Magazine of Social Sciences of the UPR
Vol. X, March of 1966

Translated to English by Javier A. Hernández Maldonado

The Puerto Rican Independence Party bases its struggle in favor of the independence of Puerto Rico on the conviction that we continue to be a colony of the United States, thus being denied the right to our freedom and sovereignty. From the moment the American invasion forces, directed by General Nelson A. Miles, disembarked in Puerto Rico in 1898, the foundations of our relationship with the United States were laid. The famous speech that the General gave when he arrived finishes with statements that hold true even till this day:

"...and to bestow upon you the immunities and blessings of the liberal institutions of our government.. to give to all within the naval control of its military and forces the advantages and blessings of the enlightened civilization."< 1 >

Everything would be under the control of the military and naval forces of the United States. Since then, our relations with the American metropolis have had some cosmetic changes that only have to do with the administration of the colony and the organization of the internal government, but never has it granted Puerto Ricans the total control of their lives and destiny. Sovereign powers have never been transferred to us in order to be able to decide in all those areas that affect the collective life of our nation.

It has recently been demonstrated that the Puerto Ricans do not have any authority to decide on vital areas, for example, the use of Vieques by the naval and military forces of the United States as a bombing and practice range. We have had to fight against all odds, even going to jail, to call the attention of the civil government of the United States, its president, and its congressmen, so that they can exert their authority and solve a situation that is fundamentally unjust. We have had to battle and struggle to place on the balance of power our interests as a nation against the interests of the metropolis, represented just as in 1898 by the Navy and military of the United States. To the date of this writing there has not been the most minimum show of will on the part of the United States government to satisfy the demands of the Puerto Rican people.

8. if anyone dares to even suggest
any kind of similarity/connection between what the Nazi's did and what successive Israeli governments have done, they're drowned out by the howls of people taking offense, yet these fuckers think being told that they can't live on land that isn't theirs is akin to the Holocaust?

I expect the usual AIPAC et al suspects to roundly condemn their appropriation of the suffering of Jews under the Nazis.

"The settler campaign was condemned by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a human rights group that focuses on Holocaust issues, and the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial center.

“The plan to wear orange stars perverts the historical facts and damages the memory of the Shoah,” said Yad Vashem’s director Avner Shalev, using the Hebrew word for the Holocaust. He urged the settlers to refrain from using the stars.

11. Some Gaza settlers to don WWII death camp uniforms for pullout
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/605943.html

<snip>

"Some residents of the northern Gaza settlement of Elei Sinai said Thursday they planned to wear Nazi concentration camp prisoner uniforms when security forces evacuate them from their homes during the disengagement.

The striped uniforms, which were to include yellow Stars of David with the word "Jude" sewn on to the lapels, have already arrived.

The secretary of the Elei Sinai settlement, Yaniv Ben Hagai, condemned the move, the latest in a series of comparisons settlers have made between the disengagement and the Holocaust. Ben Hagai said most of the 400 Elei Sinai residents oppose the idea."

<snip>

"But protest organizers are hoping to see many settlers join them, Itzik Gabai, one of those spearheading the protest, told Army Radio.

"I can't find any difference between what is happening to us now and what happened then ," said Gabai."
