Israeli Aircraft Strikes Hamas Militants
An Israeli aircraft Wednesday fired at a group of Hamas militants who were about to shoot mortar shells at a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip, the army and witnesses said. The new violence threatened a fragile cease-fire declared in February.

The airstrike came minutes after militants fired four mortar shells at the Gush Katif settlement bloc. The army said it spotted two Palestinians preparing to fire more mortars when it attacked.

Hamas said one of its members was critically wounded while conducting a "holy mission." After the airstrike, militants fired a fifth mortar shell, the army said.

9. Israel's not going to attack Iran , nor is the US
this is a battle for oil (plain and simple), Venezuela is closer, Venezuela has lots of oil, Venezuela owns Citgo, Bush doesn't like Hugo Chavez, there's going to be "something" over Luis Posada Carriles -- and we'll attack Venezuela.

Who knows - maybe Bushco will say that Cuba gave them weapons of mass destruction (or is it weapons of mass distraction)

hopping on a bus and blowing it up or going into a market and doing the same which is what 'Hamas' does and how come a "real" terrorist organization doesnt have ANY connections to this "Al Q...whatchamacallit"?

8. Say what? It's OK to shoot at a bus full of SCHOOL KIDS
or blow it up, but you think it's NOT OK to shoot at militants who are preparing to shoot at civilians. Or they're morally equivalent.

That makes sense. In some absolutely insane parallel universe.

BTW Hamas is absolutely a real terrorist organization, whose charter specifically calls for the destruction of Israel.

There is more than one terrorist network, some have loose links, others overlap. Some, like Hezbollah, seem to be primarily Shia'a, for example, and are funded by Iran.

They all get money from oil-rich states and even from Europe and beyond.

In the case of Hamas, the European Union recently refused to drop the "terrorist" appellation due to the fact that they refuse to disarm, continue blowing stuff up and also because they are constantly inciting, on their website and otherwise.

Rival party Fatah recently voided election results in one Gaza town where Hamas, the poltical wing, had made some inroads, and may delay an upcoming election altogether. They are concerned the political gains by Hamas will unsettle the entire region and lead to more violence.
