GAZA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Minister of Information Nabil Amer said on Thursday that the PNA security forces are operating to prevent any Israeli excuse to carry out a widespread military operation in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories.
Amer told reporters that the PNA is exerting efforts to stop anyviolations of the Palestinian hudna, or truce, referring to the Palestinian security forces' attempt to stop militants from firing Al Qassam rockets at Israel.
Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses said that militants of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and public security officers exchanged fire on Thursday in northern Gaza Stripas Hamas militants fired 4 Qassam rockets at Israel.
