PA security 'conceals' 11 Palestinians - report

At least 11 Palestinians who were arrested or abducted by various Palestinian Authority security services in recent years remain unaccounted for, according to a report published Sunday by a Palestinian human rights group.

The report found that the PA General Intelligence Service in the West Bank, headed by Col. Tawfik Tirawi, was responsible for the disappearance of seven Palestinians.

According to the report published by the Palestinian Independent Commission for Citizens' Rights, the fate of another three detainees remains unknown, because it is not clear which security force was holding them.

The report said most of the detainees were either kidnapped by "unauthorized" PA security personnel or summoned under false pretexts to the offices of the security forces. The report is based on testimony provided by families of the missing detainees.

Even good treatment of Palestinians is not a priority.

An important expose could be made, although suppression is always a worry, as well as assassination.
