Court bars IDF from demolishing additional Rafah homes
High Court Justice Eliahu Mazza on Friday issued an interim order barring the Israel Defense Forces from demolishing homes in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The injunction bars the IDF from demolishing homes outside of regular combat activity.

A hearing on the matter was scheduled for Sunday at 8:30 A.M.

The IDF carried out a mass demolition of buildings in Rafah refugee camp over the weekend, destroying as many as 88 homes, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said Saturday.

The injunction was issued after Palestinian residents of the town petitioned the High Court against GOC Southern Command, saying the IDF planned to demolish houses in order to widen the Philadelphi Route which demarcates the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Despite the unjustified claims of some, the Israeli court does hear appeals on demolitions regularly. No denial of due process has taken place.

1. yes- but does the idf listen? do the local authories listen?
i think israel needs to get its house in order-close to 1% of the people control the policy of israel. sharon and bush threw the dice and they lost. the ability to talk to your enemy is the first start in solving the problem but that seems to be at an end. oh well the war goes on,tomorrow there will be more deaths on both sides of the wall.

obey the court orders. It is not, as some would claim, a state under military control.

The early date for the hearing (tomorrow morning) precludes further action.
