11% of Palestinians killed by other Palestinians, study shows
Over 11 percent of Palestinians killed during the intifada died at the hands of other Palestinians, according to a report by the Jerusalem-based Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group (PHRMP), headed by Bassem Eid.

The recently published report, which sheds light on the growing chaos in the territories, is entitled "Intra'Fada."

It states that 2,678 Palestinians were killed by the Israel Defense Forces during the intifada, while 297 Palestinians were killed by other Palestinians.

Some 114 of the victims were clearly executed for allegedly collaborating with Israel, but the report describes a steep rise in other cases of murder as a result of criminal activity or family feuds.

4. What is absurd?
Since those Palestinian deaths are always counted as part of the Intifada death toll?

3. "crimes"
As compared to the first Infifada, where there were numerous instances of the Israeli-appointed police refusing to patrol and crime being at almost zero levels.

A quite impressive achievement for the Palestinian national movement. That's in the dustbin of history now of course, thanks to hideous violence and repression.

7. Refusing to patrol
Perhaps you are referring to refusing to arrest Hamas members and collect guns and ammunition. There were joint patrols with Israel-PA police prior to the outbreak of the second Intifada.

The zero crime index depends to a large extent on reporting. Zero reported crime is not necessarily zero crime. Violent crimes against Israelis and theft of Israel cars, and property does not count as crime, I assume. There was a lot of that.

8. Yeah there was
A lot of violence against Israelis and stealing of cars (both still going on now), but in comparison to the repression and humiliation unleashed by the IDF and the settlers with virtual impunity, well, about the size of a pea on Mt Everest in comparison.

As to the period I'm referring to, I would have thought that was obvious, since I said "first Intifada", i.e. pre-1993. So bringing the PA into it is irrelevant.

In any case, I actually said (accurately) that crime was at "almost zero" levels. That's a fact. Don't take my word for it - check the record and see.

9. pre-Intifada
I mentioned the joint patrols as pre-second Intifada, if you'll check my post. The joint patrols were established as a part of the Oslo agreement and subsequent negotiations.

For pre-first Intifada, you'll have to go back to prior to 1989, when the "territories" were indeed under Israeli control. Arafat was in exile, and no Hamas to whip up incitement. Crime against others could be "almost zero" at least in line with an average group.

The first Intifada was 1989-1992.

Your comparisons are extremely exaggerated as well.

11. that's pretty much it
the fact that 89 per cent were killed by Israeli seems irrelevant to some.

BTW - How many Israeli's were killed by other Israeli's in the last few years, or is it only the nasty palestinians who kill each other. LOL what a joke this forum can be
