Boy leads chorus of bomb denial
Abdallah Quran, the 11-year-old Palestinian boy who was caught Monday with a rucksack containing a 10-kg. bomb, said Tuesday he does not believe the IDF version that the bag he was carrying contained explosives.

"They are lying," he said. "I never saw a bomb. If the bag really contained a bomb, why did they release me?"

Quran's older brother, Muhammad, claimed that Israel staged the incident in an attempt to win the sympathy of international public opinion.
"We have been told many journalists were at the checkpoint before the alleged incident," he said. "This shows that the whole thing was fabricated by Israel in order to defame the Palestinians. They used my brother as a tool in their propaganda machine."

My only surprise is that it took so long for Arafat's staff to concoct this story, they must be overtired with the amount of bullshit they are required to come up with each day.

1. Arafat's staff?
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 02:53 AM by Aidoneus
A few things to be noted:--
--You're quoting from the Jerusalem Post
--...Abdallah Quran...said Tuesday...
--..."They are lying," he said...
--...Quran's older brother, Muhammad, claimed that...

It doesn't seem like "Arafat's staff" had much involvement here..

There indeed seems to be some concocting going on, though we disagree on who is cocting what. And as per usual these days, Arafat is just sitting on his ass with his hands tied while things are going on around him.

3. Cell phone in the pack
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 04:02 AM by Gimel
Yes, of course, and the cell phone call that was supposed to trigger the attack malfunctioned. Fortunately for the child, as the terrorists don't care who gets killed.

Should the IDF hand the bomb back to them and let them detonate it themselves? It might save us the trouble of explaining.
