"Israel's supreme court has ordered the suspension of work on a section of the West Bank separation barrier where two Palestinian protesters were killed last week.

Sunday's suspension order, which will remain in force until next week, allows the court to examine appeals presented by residents of eight Palestinian villages in the West Bank against construction of the barrier on their land.

Around 30 Israeli residents of the neighbouring town of Mevasseret Tzion have also presented an appeal against construction in the area.

According to a petition presented at court, "this barrier being erected on Palestinian territory will provoke tensions which will endanger the security of Israelis living in the area", the sources added."

Mofaz: Court petitions against separation fence aid terrorists
By Yuval Yoaz, Haaretz Correspondents, Haaretz Service and Agencies

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said Sunday that High Court of Justice petitions against the construction of the separation fence in the Jerusalem area give terrorists more time and opportunities to carry out terror attacks in the capital, Army Radio reported.
During a tour of the Jerusalem Envelope, Mofaz ordered that construction work on the fence also carry on at night, the station said.
"I hope in future sessions, we will be able to clarify some of the issues and then be allowed to continue to build the barrier because it has proven to be very helpful in stopping suicide bombers," Mofaz told reporters.
He also said that he would speak with the prime minister and justice minister on the issue.

2. Mofaz is such a lying f***
He knows full well that the bullzdozers are already working "24/7" on the "Jerusalem Envelope", since that FACT was well reported in the Israeli press and on Israeli TV.

He also knows that the government of Israel ORDERED (specifically) an increase in construction of areas of the fence that penetrate beyond the Green Line (i.e. the envelope + other areas), expressly for the purpose of making the World Court decision irrelevant (ADMITTED by senior Israeli officials).

He probably signed the damn order himself anyway.

I suspect he hates the fact that the Israeli military is technically accountable to the civilian courts....Damn democracy.
