Cyclist bomber kills self
A suicide bomber on a bicycle killed only himself in an attack on a Gaza Strip settlement. The bomber blew himself up alongside an Israeli jeep on Friday, outside the Kfar Darom settlement.

Oh, my. A canidate for stupidest criminal of the week. For those that object to the term homicide bombing, we will agree this was a suicide bombing. We are grateful he eliminated himself.

1. I'm sure if the bicycle had a say in it, it would say,
"You can drop me here and go on!"

2. It might have been
those damn sew up high pressure tires.
Sure, 220 psi gives you a nice firm ride, but...
Bang, and you're Joseba Beloki.

better bomb his whole neighborhood to be safe.

9. How about
if they only do the following:

Arrest the people who made the bomb.
Arrest the people who recruited him to kill people.
Arrest the people who funded the bomb making.
Arrest the people who planned the bomb making.

Oh, wait. That's what Arafat and the PA Police are supposed to be doing...

Instead, they'll throw a town party and his family will get rewards from multiple countries and "charities"

Yeah. That works.

14. I'm sure...
hamas and al-aqsa will proclaim the bike a "martyr"...

I wonder if the bike was promised 72 tricycles before
the attack.

6. I guess he was convinced that he didn't exist
"There was no such thing as Palestinians, they never existed." Golda Maier Israeli Prime Minister June 15, 1969.

11. And she was right
since there was flat out denial of the existance of a distinct "Palestinian" people only a few years before that quote by the very leadership of the Arab Refugees (which is what they were called prior to co-opting the "nationalist movement" banner). The Arab Refugee leadership insisted that they are NOT "Palestinians" and that they were to be treated as ethnic Syrians.

But, hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good PR campaign and a good use of the "Big Lie" technique.

Oh, feel free to find a use of "Palestinian" prior to the 1960s that didn't refer to ALL residents of the British Mandate including Jordanians, Jews and what are now called "Palestinians". You won't but feel free to try. It'll be an interesting learning experience.

Now, if you feel that being Syrian means you don't exist, I suggest you take that up with the Syrians. I'd guess they'll disagree.

15. No one is saying the Palestinians don't exist
The only question is how recent is their vintage.

16. Absolutely
Nobody denies that there were refugees both Arab and Jewish from the 1948 war.
Nobody denies that the Arab refugees were denied by their Arab brethern resettlement into their countries
Nobody denies that the Arab refugees were kept in refugee camps from 1949 until today
Nobody denies that they can call themselves "Palestinians" if they like. (or anything else for that matter)

What IS denied is that there was a thing as an ethnic "Palestinian People" since the people now calling themselves "Palestinians" claimed to be ethnic Syrians prior to the 1960s.
What IS denied is that there is such a thing as a "traditional Palestinian Homeland" since the claimed borders of that area have been rewritten to match political expediencies at least twice in my lifetime and they match NO previous political or geographic boundaries in several thousand years of history.

By the terms the "Palestinians" and their supporters use, I can now define myself as an ethnic Native American (First Nation for you Canadians or American Indian for people who use old terms) because my family has lived in the Americas longer than many of the "Palestinians" families have lived there. And I should be able to claim "traditional lands" that should be given to me from anybody I don't like - even if they've lived there longer than I have and even if my choices are based purely on racism and religious bigotry.

I won't make that claim and I don't think that anybody else should be able to either. It makes a mockery of legitimate nationalist movements and legitimate native peoples.

Clear now?

17. I'm sure the bicycle was supplied by the EU. A regular palestinian
could never afford a bicycle. Arafat would have sent the bike to his wife in France.
