Suha Arafat: What's wrong if my husband sends me money?
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1076559704704

Suha Arafat, Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's wife, on Thursday accused Prime Minister Ariel Sharon of "inventing" reports that French prosecutors were investigating transfers totaling $11.5m.into her bank accounts. But she did not deny that the money was transferred to her bank accounts.

French prosecutors said on Tuesday that they had opened a preliminary inquiry into transfers totaling 9 million Euros ($11.5m.) into Suha's bank accounts at The Arab Bank and at French bank BNP in Paris. The Paris public prosecutor has confirmed the report, originally published in the Le Canard Enchaine weekly, that an inquiry has been launched against Suha on the basis of information provided by the Bank of France and a government anti-money laundering body.

The CBS News Sixty Minutes program reported in November that Arafat continues to send his wife Suha $100,000 from PA aid funds each month to Paris, where she lives with their daughter. The New York Daily News reported that Suha had been staying in the luxury Bristol Paris Hotel and had rented an entire floor for herself and her assistants at a cost of $16,000 a night.

What's wrong with her getting millions? Look at a refugee camp and find out.

How in the world has Arafat maintained credibility on the world stage after all these years???????

4. Arafat versus Sharon
Sharon was a successful military leader and has been semi-successful in politics. Arafat has been an all-around miserable failure. What has he accomplished for the Palestinians during his career?

15. In favor of Arabs, though?
Major European countries and America certainly hate the Arabs more than Jews. I'm not sure about the rest of the world.

6. This is rich (no pun intended)
I don't have a problem with him sending her money out of his personal account.

I have a problem with him sending her the people's money.

Maybe Suha and Imelda can get together for a shopping spree.

7. Mr. Rabbit
There are not enough feet in the entire Middle East to wear the amount of shoe these two ladies would purchase on that shopping spree.

9. Many people in the west don't understand

how this can happen.

People in many countries can't fight a corrupt government. Milions don't think for themselves and are easily influenced, or are illiterate and can't read the papers, are too poor to have TV, are afraid of the authorities, etc. Bad leaders get away with taking people's money, and worse. The third world needs three things, education, education, and education, and that takes time.

I doubt Suha can beat Imelda in the shoestore. I was in a shoestore in a big city where the salesgirl told me a Saudi wife just walked out after chosing 43 pairs of shoes and matching handbags, to be delivered to her hotel. That's just the shoe store. That's how they shop.

11. Holy Spit !!
"People in many countries can't fight a corrupt government".....and some even support that corrupt govt.

"Milions don't think for themselves and are easily influenced".....
well,isnt that progressive.

" are afraid of the authorities"......and their terrorist henchmen.

"Bad leaders get away with taking people's money, and worse"......
and some people make purposefully make endless excuses for them.

"The third world needs three things, education, education, and education, and that takes time."......i'm waiting.

8. Where is the outrage?
This has NOTHING to do with Israel. This is about what a corrupt scumbag Arafat is. He is feeding his wife and kids with money stolen from needy children on the West Bank.

13. The difference is
Arafat's people are poor and starving and he has stolen about $1 billion from their hungry mouths.

14. What exactly are you saying, Muddle?
It's ok for a leader to be corrupt as long as the people are not poor and starving?
