Sharon to ask Bush for $2b for disengagement, fence
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will ask US President George W. Bush for $2 billion in aid next week to finance the evacuation of settlements in the Gaza strip and several settlements in the West Bank. With this money, Sharon intends to finance the construction of two settlements in the Negev, and compensation to those who will be forced to leave their homes. Sharon also seeks to finance a railway from Eilat to the center of the country in this way.

Sharon is also due to ask Bush for help in financing construction of the separation fence on a new route, close to the Green Line. The Prime Minister’s Office estimates that the aid request will be granted in part, and that even if it is granted, the aid will be given in the form of long-term loans.

2. We all know that he is a divider
Between Americans and our traditional European allies, so why should this be different in this part of the world?

4. In real terms
I would suspect your contribution might take 2 minutes or less. Mine probably would take only one minute.

5. My point is, as you know, that this "security fence"
or as I heard it called "the apartheid wall" will only increase enmity, and not bring "security" to anybody. My contribution would take no time. But I don't want to contribute. What I would be willing to contribute to is a real Clinton or Jimmy Carter-type dialogue between equal partners who are sincere in their wish for a real and lasting peace. Bush* has just ignored this and the conflict here has just spiraled out of control. Lives are being lost everyday, but Bush* is not overly concerned about American lives being lost in Iraq, so why should he be concerned about this?
